    Now I have the knowledge, for when I need it. I'll probably dissamble it just to check if the pistons have been lubed properly. Thanks!

    Good work. A little lube, like Lanotec, on the bearings and shaft during assembly would go a long way to stop future corrosion. Definitely should grease both heads and reed valves too.

    I really appreciate you taking the time to disassemble and reassemble the compressor. I plan on some modification and this will help greatly. I'd just like to point out that you installed the orange plate in the wrong place. The orange plate came off the top of the black cover where the piston covers sat. Then the two halves of the orange piston covers go on. Glad it works. Glad you fixed it!

    I have the All Top version of this compressor...seems identical with the exception of the filter cover...on mine, the filter has extensions that cover the head bolts. I just modded mine by removing the main circuit board and replacing with a relay. I wonder if the brush spring is a common failure point for these compressors? Any chance you can provide the actual McMaster-Carr P/N for those springs instead of the manufacturer P/N? McMaster doesn't always provide the manufacturer P/N unless you have an account with them. But good job nonetheless.

    Be aware that there is a significant difference in black tape. Cheap stuff meant for temp/discard use & the good stuff meant for Long-term use. 3M Super33+ is the good stuff, and price reflects that quality difference.

      NGL, I have no idea which one I used. Just grabbed the first one I found in the garage haha. but thanks for the info!

      @@jeremydoc cheap tape has a large cardboard hole, but the good Super33+ has a smaller cardboard hole meant to make a electrician struggle to take it off his toolbelt chain thingy that holds electrical tape.

    After watching this i got motivated to continue disassembly of my kings thumper max which failed to proceed on the third tyre it ever pumped ( it sat on the shelf for a couple of years unused so no warranty). I found the same broken brush spring so now I wonder if it will have done some end of life damage or if i can source a spring will i be able to resurect it? Or do I just keep it as spares for the maxi trac?
    Cheers
    Mark

    Any ideas where I can get a replacement thermal switch?

    A definite fault with the brushes.
    The main power wires need replacing all so to a heavier grade so they don't over heat & burn out..
    A 90-120 psi pressure switch is a big benefit to the little compressor & saves it from over heating due to excessive running...

      This video didnt get into the main wires which was what I was wondering about. How are they connected to the brush shunts under that heat shrink? Do you know?

    Wonder what the motor RPM's are??? Seemed like a pretty quiet motor

    • @jeremydoc
      @jeremydoc  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      yeah, the motor itself is pretty quiet when it's not hooked up to the pump
