For twenty years I have been under the illusion I 'knew' this ... only NOW do I get it. And now it seems so simple. Did I not listen before ... Can't tell you how thankful I am. You have done so much for me in this video. I love you.

It is like being under the rain.
You can see the rain (thoughts), you can feel the rain (emotions) but you’re not the rain. The desire for the rain to stop being there or for the sensation of the water touching you stopping is a useless pursuit. It is just stress and a false fight that you created. Just be the witness of all that because you are not the rain.

I think I am going to listen to this particular video over and over again. I keep forgetting, while living in the day to day, to keep on with this perspective! It's almost like veering off in meditation, to then bring myself back to being the awareness! Thanks Sunny💛Much love!

Thank you once again Sunny for this simple clarity. The "small I" (as it were)...the mind saying "I am frightened, anxious, frustrated, cold, hot, unhappy (any word or thought)...is not the real you. It is an amalgamation of conditioning/habits/beliefs/reactions...an illusory "person" that only continues to continue through habit/belief/reaction/interest. 💜

Sincere Thank You Brother Sunny for such Clarity on this important discussion on Spiritual Discernment. You have explained it so well and clear,, our GodSelf/ Awareness/ Presence/ Consciousness as unchanging Isness/ Beingness and the changeful phenomena of thinking/thoughts/ egoic mind/ sense of separation from Source.
As we continuously keep our focus of attention on our Divine Selfhood/ Light of Consciousness, then gradually the false sense of self/ ego diminishes towards fading out , and in proportion we experience corresponding outer harmony and good in our human experiences, at all levels of Being, health, emotions, finances , relationships, family, opportunities for service etc.
Thank you sincerely Sunny for All this excellent discussion/ Teaching.

Hi Sunny, Thank you, your thoughts and graphics which I have saved to my IPad, reinforce what I learnt from you very early on in my practice about this discernment between the changeless self and all that changes especially thoughts, which generate the ego-self over the true-self, and I the ego find myself now constantly stepping out of the daydream when I find myself engrossed in highly charged thought to watch the emotions ‘I’ appear to be feeling in that moment, only to see a detachment appear that wasn’t there originally and I think I am now at the stage of allowing the grace from regular meditation to move me from the contradiction of ‘the search for effortlessness’ which my mind imagines the great masters had achieved, with all searching and striving gone and effortlessness left supreme in a constant observation and detachment as the normal state of sat-chit-ananda. ❤ JJ

I thought I was awake and aware when I started watching this video, but I wasn’t, not at all, my brain was going 100 thoughts a minute. You said to be here, be present, only then I started to step into my awareness, my I AM (had my eyes closed for a few minutes) was paying attention and when I opened my eyes, you looked different, like seeing for the first time. Perhaps my thinking mind saw you one way and the Awareness saw you in a different light. Kinda weird and cool at the same time. That goes to show how asleep we go through life in our own chatter 🐒 brain that we can’t see what’s in front of us, not really. Thank you 🙏 for this beautiful moment of presence.

Q: Many associate the question, “Who am I?” with Sri Ramana’s teachings. Was this the main teaching?
A: He always maintained that his primary and most effective teaching was the silence that radiated from him on account of his Self-abidance. It stilled the minds of the people who were fortunate enough to be with him and, on occasion, it even gave them a taste of the direct experience that he himself was experiencing all the time. The words, the spoken teachings and the various methods he advocated were for those people who were unable to attune themselves to these silent emanations.

This is lovely. One question though. When working through a life challenge, we are often guided to “go within” and our higher self will provide guidance. To listen to our inner wisdom. The implication being that we can access a higher awareness for guidance. Your guidance here suggests that any solution that comes has brought us back into thinking (mind), therefore can’t be awareness. Is going within for guidance still the solution and if so, how do we distinguish between mind and the higher consciousness as guiding us? In other words, how do we know it isn’t our ego providing the guidance?

Ive been struggling with "just being aware". I had a brain injury that has made it so that word retrieval/understanding and memory is often much much more difficult, and it used to be much worse. The idea of simply being aware, with no thought or words is scary to me. Being aware of my awareness doesnt feel like an option in those moments, it feels like voluntary dissociating where whatever happened in that time is lost to the void, and there isnt an option to have retroactive awareness.

  • @guysweenie
    @guysweenie 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

There are two 'I's that one need to be aware of 'I' the Universal is the awareness and "I" personal is the Ego that veils the I Universal! It is the ego that asserts itself and takes over as the doer! As long as the I personal is there you cannot discern the mind and the True I which is I universal! Ramana Maharishi is very specific on this and he asks to catch hold of I personal and hold onto it until it eventually dissolves in I universal! When you bring attention to the I personal or ego, it cannot withstand the scrutiny and when the ego is starved by the focus on I personal it dies a slow death! Only then can you recognise the true I which is I universal!

We are the authors of the character we assume to be. The intelligent awareness is capable of running stories about our character. The character is fiction, but the awareness is deeper and more foundational than the stories it runs. (Too many words!) 😅

It's bit too early on Quest. Have patience. Go forward. We are yet to go to next step that "I have nothing to do with body- mind. "
There's no relationship. In fact they don't exist. It's just a dream/ facade.
At ultimate, you will have no feeling, no witness, no object. ❤

    • @rykenu

They are referring to the illusory self, "we" (illusory we) are referring to the mind/body instead of your true self. If you keep your awareness on a particular thought the mind/body will follow in that direction. The true self (awareness) remains unchanging, however the mind and body will change depending on where your focus lies.
