It's a well documented story. The Ridsdale gamble that almost cost Leeds their club. Brilliant squad. Not a weak player on it. Imagine having the likes of Keane, Viduka, and Kewell up front these days! Instead, we're fearing Watford tomorrow & praying that we'll stay up.
If only to have a squad like this one again! Any number of decent finishers. It's almost odd that they won nothing, but it was all so short lived. O'Leary was a genius. Shame on the Leeds board (as is still the case today). Thanks for the great memories (-:
@@danwhitaker5168 I personally enjoyed watching the bielsa side over the last few years, and I’ve never seen an atmosphere like there was in the last few games in the championship games plus play offs..The football is the most exciting I’ve ever seen in 45 years..But I do agree the players individually were of better quality sure, but this is more of a complete team...We have bielsa to thank for that...!!
Was there for this game with some Leicester fans and had a £10 bet Leeds to win 5-0 after seeing the teamsheet..... was gutted when Kewell slotted in the 6th 🙄
if you would have come in the last two seasons, you see football like this at elland rd..if bielsa was manager of that old team im sure they would have won everything..been watching leeds since 1978, but the present team play some of the best football I have ever seen week in week out...see you in the prem next year ..
@@JohnSmith-zv8km I don't agree me and my son have only missed a few home games whilst under bielsa, I do agree that the other team had better individual footballers but the tempo and the way the team play under bielsa is amazing..Every game is like custards last stance for the opposition, there just relentless at coming forward...😁

I'm a Chelsea supporter, but this was a fantastic Leeds United team. This team was good enough to win silverware.
