Video idea: make the best B Roster for the USMNT Right now (not potential, but if we had a copa america tomorrow, and you are not allowed to include any players you included in your best roster). That would make a good video to show the depth or lack there of that we have.

Nice work guys. Pioli was constantly having Davide calabria do exactly what tacs describing with Weston and yes he put in a few assists but it completely forces pulisic( if he’s on the right) to think defense first against quality sides. Even agasint lower serie A sides they were caught out constantly and so we want our most
Influential offensive game changer to even have to put 20 percent of his energy on defense. Heck no. In a 4231 dest and a Rob act often act as wingbacks during transitions as it is. And if Jonny and Weston play in a dual pivot we should be able
To play out of the back pretty regularly. Weah at RB has to happen so we can get haji on the left pulisic at the 10 and gio on the right and Sargent up top. Cheers

  • @loganmapes2307

I like the 4-4-1-1 more try this
    Turner dest Richards ream Jedi
Puli left mid Adams left CM (so puli can help on the ball) musah right Cm Weston right mid
Reyna in front of the middle four as a cam/cf/false 9
    Balogun up top.
This gives perfect use of our players, weah is a natural sub for Weston to stay 4-4-1-1 or musah (and shift to a 4-3-3)
Johnny can replace either Adam’s or musah pending circumstance
Dest supports Weston/weah going forward and vise versa since we still worry about his defense and the juve guys play defensively for club
You can have ccv as ream replacement as he ages out
Then we have so much depth and competition up front between haji Pepe balo Sargent
And it gets rid of Gregg’s obsession to cross it in when we don’t have a target man. Let gio pull the stings and hit our striker making runs or puli wide.
It lets us get more of our strongest position group (midfield) on the field
Now with dest out I would start weah there, but if you do like for like and start scaly and keep weah as the sub for mckennie

  • @Phogadacbiet
    @Phogadacbiet หลายเดือนก่อน +1

4-3-2-1 is our best formation, given the players we have. And, here’s why. The back 4…well, we have enough ball playing CBs to make a back 3 work, but our wingbacks, without Dest makes a back 3 kinda eh. The midfield 3 is where you have MMA. The debate of Gio for Musah stops here; we can get them both on the pitch, and have them in natural positions. The midfield trident functions just as they would in a 4-3-3 except in this case, it’s less impetus on them to playmaker, and more focused on the dynamism they provide in a gegen-press that Ggg wants to see. This leaves the 2 of Pulisic and Reyna being much more tucked in. Yes, we’re sacrificing width, but we cater to both their strengths and allow a sort of free roaming, dual 10s that sit just behind the 9. This way, they can consistently create overloads, exchange zones, and make themselves available from MMA. Lastly, the 9. It’s Sargent. Guy is playing with his hair on fire (ginger joke), but jokes aside, from the 9 spot, we have always looked best with him leading the line; pair that with finally playing as a 9 at club level, and I think we have our best formation. Now, for the 23 man roster -
GK: Turner (starter), Horvath, and Schulte: 3
FB: Scally (starter), Weah, Jedi (starter) and Lund: 7
CB: Richards (Starter), Ream (starter), CCV, McKenzie and Robinson: 12
Deeper mid: Adams (starter), Johnny, Wes (Starter), Musah (starter), and LDLT: 17
Inside forwards: Pulisic (starter), Gio (starter), Haji, and Malik (21)
St- Sargent (starter) and Balogun : (23)

@tacticalmanagerbabymommaak5825 I think you've come a very long way since the 90's, the US players are so much better than they once were, I think with the rise of the Internet more folks have access to more of it now, I personally don't mind that you guys call it soccer (it's just your word for it, besides we have a TV show on Saturday afternoons called Soccer Saturday on Sky Sports) I've also got a few American friends (they used to play for a student pub team I was coaching about 10 years ago, it was a pub next to the University) they kind of got me into CONCACAF stuff, and we still chat over the internet, no but I think you guys are doing fine, you're not elite as yet, but you're closer to the top than the bottom, I'd say kind of middle of the road right now, compared to the 80's/early 90's youre miles ahead, ive got to admit because of my American friends you guys have kind of become my 2nd team (after England of course 😆) so I might be a bit biased, but yeah it seems to be doing fine right now in the US, I hope you guys have a good tournament, my worry is I don't trust Berhalter(or as I call him the American Southgate) I reckon Gareth Southgate's ineptness will be what stops us in the Euros (personally I think France will win it) and I see a lot of similarities with Berhalter and Southgate unfortunately, I like following Tac and Pete because their channels seem to come across as more authentic voices of the fans unlike those that you get on TV networks (its not just in America, we have the same thing here with some TV talking heads) it also gives me something to chat to my American friends about

@tacticalmanagerbabymommaak5825 I think you guys have come a very long way since the 80's/90's, you produced some quality players, I think Pulisic is quality (yes you could say he flopped at Chelsea but they're an absolute mess right now gor a reason) Gio Reyna is quality (though whoever advised him to go to Forest needs a slap) I hope he finds the right situation this summer, there's a proper player in there, in the right situation Gio will fly, there's others that are quality too (Tyler Adams when fit, Wedton McKennie, I'd argue outside of the Top 3 (Man City, Arsenal and Liverpool) Antonee Robinson has possibly been the best LB in the Prem this season, more often than not he's been excellent this season, I don't think you guys are elite yet, but your closer to the top than the bottom, you're somewhere in the middle of the pack, I just think you're current team needs more seasoning and more experience, I don't even mind you guys calling it soccer (it's just your guys word for it, I'll personally always call it football, we also have a TV show on Saturday afternoons called Soccer Saturday on Sky Sports) I will say I might be a bit biased, the US has kind of become my 2nd team (after England of course 🤣) because I've got a few American friends, they used to play for the University pub team I was helping coach, they got me into CONCACAF, I still chat to them online now and again, it was actually Steve(one of said Americans) that first told me about Tac at around the last world cup, this summer my only real worry for you guys is Berhalter (or as I call him the American Southgate) I think Gareth Southgate's ineptness will be the reason England won't win the Euros this year (I think France will win it personally) I see a few similarities between Berhalter and Southgate, I hope I'm wrong

Best region in the world in my opinion. Yes they still have ways to go. And it was the Americans in Europe that made me watch European soccer. At first I didn't care but now I enjoy watching the Americans in the epl. Yes Chelsea is a mess but oh man I was rooting for them during that CL run. Even the championship is good to watch. And the top leagues. If you would have asked me to name 5 teams in the championship 5 years ago, I wouldn't even tell you. But it's nice to see other teams and other jerseys. But also when we faces eacother In the world cup I wasn't scared. I was confident. Would u have been surprised if we lost? Fuck no. But I wasn't surprised that we tied. If anything a lil disappointed. But I'm glad that you watch our region. Not many folks from your region care for it. Which I understand. But soccer fans just enjoy soccer whatever region. Especially international for me. I would rather watch an obscure international like the nonprofit popular ones like Kuwait take on San marino. Something about international soccer is just unmatched. Especially keeping up with uefa nation league, euro, wcq. Same with the other regions. But anyways, hopefully we get better and have another match. Goodluck to your team.

Two things you can bank on. First, Pete’s excellent roster and formational set up will not happen, not now, not tomorrow, not ever. Second, McKinney will play right back in Greg’s lumbering, 4-3-3. After that it is the usual suspects in the usual positions. On the front line, Pulisic will been left, Weah will be right, and then the 9 will be any of Sargent, Pepi Haji, or Balogun. But my guess is he will keep the great in form scorers - Sargent and Wright - on the bench a play Balogun again…because GGG simply is not very smart. But we all know that.

Far too many "he can play there in a pinch" scenarios for both Tac and Yanks. Whatever happened to "keep it simple s******"?

Whenever 11 Yanks starts with his “strawman arguments “ it really makes this a hard watch. “Drake Callendar is world class and deserves a call up strictly because he plays for Inter Miami..” What serious soccer person is suggesting that? Not, the Twitter echo verse, but I mean semi-informed USMNT person has suggested he should be on the roster strictly because of playing with Messi?

If Callendar was playing for Colorado, DC or Orlando instead of Miami he wouldn't have gotten a call up last cycle. The extra exposure from playing with Messi is absolutely what got him that call up.

I'm pretty sure Pete was making a joke about Callendar who's been awful this season and is only getting call-ups because he plays with Messi. Trust me, Callendar ain't getting called up if he played for Vancouver Whitecaps. T
