Today's episode of procraftinating is preparing for some future procraftinating...LOL :)
I am making a quick little art journal base using a large poster board kinda calendar thingy I saved from the trash. The plan for this little journal is to participate in #maggiemayart prompt play along hosted by @leighcreates

Hello Michelle, so happy you are going to play along with me. What a great idea for your journal, couldn't get any easier, well done. I truly believe that you make better art when you are arting in a book you made yourself. You may have already covered your shiny pages but if you haven't done so yet, a light sanding with fine sandpaper will take the shine off. Have added your video to my playlist. hello! Thanks so much for stopping in and your kind words. I have started (prompt 1 video is up tomorrow) I just gesso'd the pages and yep the paint was scraping off ;/. Play and learn I suppose ;). I will give sanding a try. Also pondering just covering the entire page with the masking tape. I'll be seeing you around this month :)

Helpful hint ❤ 3:01 where your pages are shiny, take a sanding block or sandpaper and scuff the surface. This simple prep will help immensely.

Welcome! I appreciate you stopping by and offering kind advice. I've completed one page just with gesso, and yep I need another plan. It was scraping off. I'll give sanding a try (tiny bit worried about the tiny dust particles. sensory thing ;P ). Also pondering just covering the entire page with the masking tape. On the 1st spread it seemed to hold up well even through lots of liquids and heat tool. We will experiment and play :D
@@curiouslymichelle masking tape might work too. When you sand do it lightly. I totally understand sensory issues 😊
So if sanding doesn’t work for you I’m sure you’ll figure it out.
