Your videos are becoming very useful, the water pipe going to the motor decided to somehow fall off and cause my cars boot sensor to think it's always open so in turn sets the alarm off, the leak also messed up the heated rear screen again due to water damage so removed everything I'll let it all dry out for a few days then use some electrical cleaner on the contacts etc. so I only used your vid for the trim removal but it's good to know b4 you attempt it in the cold 😹
My rear wiper is doing strange things, it comes on random times and stops in weird positions, even on the body work. Could it be the motor or something to do with the electrics?
I read that the water from the washer system leaks into the motor housing and electrics. I just pulled my motor out with the help of this video and it was full of water and a mix of dirt and grease. Looks like it'll be ok after a cleanout and sealing the bushes that should stop the motor getting filled with water. Also I'll clean out the nozzles that squirt washing fluid onto the wiper.
@@ArapuniWizard that thought crossed my mind today actually. I replaced the motor a couple of months ago. It was working fine up until the other day, it started playing up like before. Then it totally died when I used the windscreen wash. When I did change the old one, I did notice a lot of rusty water marks under the panel and around the motor.
Hiya, my wiper blade motor needs replacing , I have an A3 138 TDI 61 plate. I was given the figure of £200 + VAT by the garage I take it to for its MOT/service. Same for my glove compartment door that has broken. I looked on ebay at replacement motors for rear window wipers and they are between £40-£60, saw your video and thought I could get it done cheaper. I am not a mechanic so would have to find a good one. Wish you were nearer. 😊
Hi all I've managed to change the motor over and all is working fine now. Only issue is the alarm seems to go off intermittently at random times.. Is this at all linked to the change of motor I've done? Any advice it's doing my nut in! Thanks
How do you know if the motor needs replacing or can it be saved? I can hear a click when I try to use my wipe but no movement the water sprays out aswell just wondering could it have seezed up or is it just knackered and needs replacing to video very easy to follow and I've removed the motor just don't no if I can save it or should just replace any help would be great full
It sounds like something inside the motor may have failed. There's no harm in opening it up to investigate, worst case scenario is that it requires replacing.
I was thinking this as there has been times I've used the wiper and it's sprayed water but wouldn't move as the wiper had a crack where the nut is and wqs thinking could it have seezed up with rust after I've not used it in many month thanks for the reply I've ordered a new motor but if I can fix this one then I have a new one as spare cheers for getting back so quickly
I replaced the motor and works fine now but being honest it's abit of a pain taking that panel off and getting it back off well getting off sounds like you have broken something lol and getting back on well that's a different story lol but it's very simple replacing the motor just make sure you put the clip on the water hose as I got it all back together tried it nothing happened then water started leaking hahahha
Is the motor also works as water pump ? As my wiper is not working and even water not coming out . I hear pump working when using wiper but no water coming out . Just wandering if changing motor will fix this
You can test this by removing the pipe where it attaches to the motor, and then activating the motor to see if it squirts water out (please note water will slowly come out anyway even before you activate the motor). If this is fine then it is likely to be a blockage somewhere in the pipe/nozzle, or the pipe is not connected at the rear.
God I’m having so much trouble getting my wiper arm off I’ve got a extractor tool and it still won’t budge any ideas I’ve used loads of wd40 it’s just not shifting
In the past we've had them where they won't budge, and we've had to use a small hacksaw blade to remove them. First to remove the plastic arm, and then again to remove the metal collar around the spindle. If doing this you need to be very careful not to damage the spindle. Obviously this would also require a new wiper arm.
Select Vehicle Spares thanks for the reply. Yh I’m gonna have to do that I think I was putting loads of pressure on the extractor but was a bit worried about the glass breaking. I’m gonna pop to my local breakers yard and get another wiper arm/motor. all the best

Excellent instructions, changed wiper motor in 20 minutes and stopped alarm going off to boot! Thanks for taklng the time to do this.
Fantastic video and saved me hundreds of pounds. Only issue I had was the removal of the wiper arm as I needed to get a clamp to remove it.
Yeah it's a pain in the ass mine took ages just had to keep wiggling it 😆
Can you not make it look so easy? 😂
But really thanks for such a quick and useful guide!
Good video no messing about. Done mine after watching this, easy job.

@@AMS_KustomDipz did you manage to fix the alarm issue? Could you possibly write a more detailed explanation of everything you did and how? TIA
@@tajsingh7924 ya i put a screw in the water pipe and blocked it all off so only the front works now so no more electrical or water issues lol
Best one I've watched
Top man, great instructions, worked a treat thanks

Get a new motor and be done with it easy fix with this video and only costs £25 , my wiper was doing the same 😬

I wouldn't think so, unless some of the wring to the tailgate lock inside the tailgate has been disturbed in some way?
@@SelectVehicleSpares I can't see that I have and it doesn't show that the boot is opened on the dash so really unsure on what the issue could be :(
