The servers are pretty active, only the Portal servers can sometimes be empty/full of bots. Right now for $6, I don't think you'll regret it if you have a wish to play.

@@degbil should I buy battlefield 4 or 2042?

I think that Battlefield 4 is a bit old now and lacks in some mechanics compared to newer Battlefields, that's why I personally don't play it as much anymore. It can still be fun tho, if you can find a good server. In my opinion, the best Battlefields to buy right now are Battlefield V and 1. But if you don't like that old era of warfare, go for Battlefield 2042. And of course, only buy when they are on sale.
