Mike, first of all, you alone are resonsible for me getting back in to Ham Radio after 15 years and more imortantly, HF. I've watched most of your videos and realized that POTA was my incentive for easy, regular QSO's as a hunter and with a limited, portable station rig. I bought the Xiegu G90, a Wolf River Silver Bullet. and a Pyramid P/S. I'm amazed by all 3. I Logged my first POTA contacts yesterday and worked a few 20 meter nets. I'm grateful for your uplifting and encouraging videos. As for the G90 stand, I think the accessories are way overpriced and my solution was a black laquered 1"X2" piece of pine and rubber feet on the rig. I have a detached muffin fan on standby connected to the P/S (or battery) if needed but as a hunter, the transmit cycles are fewer. I look forward to working you in the near future. Again, Many Thanks and 73......Dennis K2DJS
@@paulgarcia1566 I also bought a Samlex 1235M for my Icom 718. A bit more expensive but I like the current and voltag meters. The Ziegu G90 is just plain awesome and fun. I'll take it out in the woods when the weather breaks. Good luck.
There's probably a lot of variability at the Shag-You chinese factory in how deep they drill those screw holes on the side. Try the original screws and see if they are long enough to secure the new side rails but short enough that they don't bottom out.
This is exactly the same stand you say on my twitter feed before I spat the dummy with twitter. The slack sides is due to the tapped holes in the G90 not being tapped deep enough. I found a gentle working of the screw would get the screws to work into the alloy chassis better. Nip them up and all will be good to go. Sadly these guards/stands do not fit with the fan stand unless you whip the feet and the bale stand off. 73 de MM0JNL
Hi Mike. Good review. I bought this bracket last summer to use the G90 for picnic table POTA. Mine went together very snug. Maybe the supply chain issues have caused Radioddity to end up with a different length and they didn't even realize it because they were so close. Also have the fan version (with the finger protector plate).
Major design fault. I just bought one, hence late to comment, and found there is nothing to stop the stand collapsing forward. Whenever you press down on the radio to change bands or mode, it just collapses and the radio falls flat. Not with the money.
Hey Mike, Let us know if the shorter (original) screws solved the play in the handles. Also, Radioddity has a package deal right now for the H1 and the H2 stands. $79.99 combined and I believe you get free shipping. One of the questions on their website asked about using the H1 and H2 stands together and Radioddity said that they will both fit together without having to remove the H2 feet and stand. Thanks for the reviews! 73!
Mike the screws are too long. Shanking out. Maybe try original screws instead. Washers would help. I got a hardware kit from Amazon with all sorts of that stuff for my 3D printed builds.
Hi Mike, greetings & HNY from Germany! :) I own this Radioddity kickstand for my G90 too, but mine fits absolutely perfect and tight, perhaps a factory fault?
Huh, interesting little stand. I wonder how the temperatures stand up compared with the H1? I bet having it tilted helps airflow & cooling to some extent. Obviously not as good as with a fan, but still maybe sufficient if you're just sticking to SSB?
I don’t imagine it would work with the fan stand? I do digital with the G90 but that cooling stand adds a few pounds that would be nice to lose if just taking the radio out to do non digital things.

Hey Dennis, which Pyramid PS model did you go with? Thanks.

Great review Mike! Great add on for the radio. I love my G90. My dream radio would be this same radio with 100 watts, maybe the G100 LOL! 73!!
Thanks, Mike, for your honest review. have a Prosperous New Year. Put a thumbs up

Nice job Mike I use my g90 FT8 better than 7100/7300!

I like it. All I need is a G90! 😁
thanks mike!
Thank you
Put the old screws in it and see if that would work!
Bought mine last Aug 2020 have a Cooling Fan, CE-19, PAX100 Amplifier and LPFX Filter. Have not had the time to play w/ it. Too many projects.
Try putting the old screws in. The new screws may be too long.
I use to dream about it but its price in Poland and ez affordability of 3d print made this obsolete. Damn I still want it.

Feel like tackling the “led button light modification”? That would make a great tutorial!

I got one with my G90. It came with the small screws.... still in the box...
What are the length of the long ones? Cheers G, M7EGD

Screws could be a tad to long. Grind a little off of each one and see if it snugs that side up.
ordered stand and backpack for xiegu but discount code did not work
Hi Mike. Will the G90 with the H2 installed still fit on the G1 fan stand?
Yes
Does this stand work woth the fan?
Yes
Just shorten the screws
Half baked for the money
For what it is it is way overpriced I will be doing the MacGyver stand.
Locktite?
Not sure what part you're referencing but yes, Locktite is good.
It is Xiunk.
