crisp as f**k i'd say.looks like he got the suspension sorted too.no weaves or huge dipping under braking.

The engine is revving nice and freely. Is it a stage 2 tune or something more radical?

What power are you running mate. I see you’re taking it to 12k. I want 80ish hp, I’m guessing you’re around those figures?

a slow lap times to say i was lapping on a old rd 400 in the 1.40s many years ago

I don't pretend to be fast. 😅 one thing that holds true in biking is... no matter who you are, there is always someone faster.
Aside from that, the bike nor me bounce very well so I'll just slow down for the bends and keep my arse on the seat.
      1.40 on a rd400 is impressive though.

Have you modified the cooling system? My usually sits at 70° C

I did notice that it was running quite cool at the beginning but didn't climb much higher by the end. Perhaps it needs a new thermostat ? My turbo diesel car needed one recently, not having shifted above 70 degrees for a while but back to its normal 78 after a new one went in. My SV1000 Suzuki runs a few degrees hotter, following a remap but it's not so hot as to be verging on lean, now at about 87 compared to the OE usual 83. At least a stroker like this Yam has no valves to melt !

yes mate, the bike is running a Wicked cool head with a 55 degree stat and a custom made wide and deep core radiator. Oh, and a high flow impellor.

Can't see that crank lasting long revving to 12k

    • @keh4040

Hotrod crank on 10-ball bearings with straight cut primaries and Nova gearbox conversion. The bike has been going for around 4 yrs on that crank and is still good. So it ain't doing too bad. 😂

If we'd had those in the 80s it would have made racing a lot more affordable.
The cost of cranks, if you revved them to 11 was awful and a lot of sidecar lads packed in because of it....but well done. My Proddy 350 had nearly TZ spec. barrels copied off Dave Hawkins' 750, bored carbs, upped CR , TZ pistons modded for LC rings, and was competitive in '81 but yours is in another league.😂
