Finland, quite literally, to be born here is like winning the lottery!! in this episode we run into Rudolph, Santa and bears!!
Huge forests greet us as we zig sag our way across Finland, from the Norwegian boarder to the Russian boarder. Finland is very fast becoming our favourite country. We are loving every moment and every place we visit. It's WILD!!!
We are the Newbys, John, Tara, and our two little boys Crusoe and Sawyer. We’re a family who are pursuing an alternative lifestyle, and after two years of full time travel we’ve taken root on an abandoned farm in Northern Portugal which we’re renovating into our dream off-grid homestead. We release new videos every Sunday sharing our story, and we’d love for you to be a part of it with us. Yeah you can but if you can't name the mushroom, you shouldn't eat it. There's also many mushrooms that look the same but the other one is poisonous so i wouldn't even trust google lens.

Hello, I'm the person who is fun at parties and am here to tell you didn't cross the artic circle when you majestically stepped over that line at 6:03. Artic circle is more than 2 kilometers north from there. And every year it is 15 meters further north. About 150 years it would have been there, but the tourist attraction was obviously not there then, so they've lied about it as long as they've operated. I just checked their website and in the artic circle section they give accurate information about the latitude of the artic circle (or what was accurate 5 years ago) and then claim it runs through their attraction, but when you go to the section about how to get there they even give coordinates of the establishment which are more in line with the markings on the ground. And now when I decided to look at the aerial photos that line is not even parallel to latitude lines. But I guess that is how tourist attractions operate. Now if you'll excuse me I have plenty of parties to be fun at.

The Arctic Circle migrates, yet very slowly. Around 45000 years ago it was somewhete near the Finnish city of Kemi.

It is!! I always compared it a little to Greece, quite relaxed and, well, a great country to travel! People are friendly and the land is free to explore. :)
Actually Saana (1,029m) is not the highest "mountain" (fell really) of Finland, it's only 12th. Saana is perhaps the most spectacular though.
The highest mountain of Finland is Halti (1,324m).

what mountain did you climb? that did not look like halti at all which is finlands highest mountain. i visited halti a couple of years ago.

I’m just curious if you guys are going to go plant based now that you’re living on your farm that produces so much wonderful fruit and veg.
Animals in the awful large commercial farming sector are doing so much damage to the planet as well as unfortunately not being very eco friendly.
I’m a vegan & have never been interested in animal based products even tho I’m from a farming upbringing and one of the largest meat eating and animal product manufacturing /slavery countries. 😢
