This defense lawyer is such a tool! He's too excited about putting these text msgs up......we all know text msgs can easily be taken out of context. All that has been read so far is about anger & frustration regarding their relationship as well as him taking accountability for his part in the ugliness & vowing to work on himself to make it better.....which only proves they were toxic together which leaves a whole lot open....
And Amber was the most toxic one in that relationship, at least Johnny recognize his faults while amber never takes accountability of her abusive ways

None of these texts prove he laid a finger on her. He may have acted badly & said some terrible things but there is no mention of physical violence. In fact it shows he took responsibility for his bad behavior and wanted to do anything to make things better
exactly this. all they've proved today is that he used drugs and drank alcohol, which Johnny has already spent the past three days admitting to. Zero proof of him being violent to her. As a former drug addict who has been clean for a little over 3 years now, I have so much sympathy for Johnny right now. It's so awful having your past wreckage put out for the world to see, especially when drug addicts are already so ashamed of things theyve done while using.

Actually, the more he vented in texts indicates to me, that is where all that energy went instead of into her face. It’s healthy to vent on paper so to speak rather than it building up to a physical explosion. Where is a psychological expert to explain this to the court? That’s what I’d do if I were on the legal team.

"monster" is a pretty well known as a colloquial term for addiction. not only am a recovering addict (been clean off opiates since 2014) but i have also worked as a caseworker in 2 domestic violence shelters ... and I have heard MANY people say "the monster" meaning the urge you feel to get high during addiction, etc. never heard someone use it the way this lawyer is REALLY TRYING to force us to think.

As someone who lives with a narcissist, I can hands down say that just because he has said awful things via texting others does not mean he physically hurt her. I’ve been to the point where I have texted friends saying bad things that I wished upon my significant other, so I get him. She has broken this man… he just wants to clear his name and I pray that justice is served. Hugs and love Johnny!

I think the point of showing the texts was that most of them contained hate speech i.e described violent or sexually violent acts towards women and misogynistic slurs
All of this but where is the physical violence towards her? None! He drank, took drugs, yes, what person in that situation (and there are alot of people who have experienced this) hasn't done drugs and or alcohol to help them through the mental, psychological, physical and emotional trauma she has displayed towards him or at the very least thought about it?! They each played their role in displaying their incompatibility. It comes down to this: proof of injury and evidence. It is quite clear that she harmed JD physically and it is well documented. The rest are just jumbled texts on her part not really constituting any evidence.

All I hear is a man who was helplessly in love with a woman who gaslit him, took advantage of his vulnerable state (and documented those moments- disgusting!) and manipulated him into feeling like he was the problem by over exaggerating his actions while minimizing her own and making everything about her because she is such a narcissist. I honestly think this woman is a sociopath. She threw away a kind and generous man who loved her endlessly and then continued to try and destroy him completely after she already ruined him. You would assume that if she was so abu*ed by him, she would not be sitting there smirking while hearing the texts about her. It’s typically extremely hard for the victim to face their abu*er.
She has no problem giving out big grins today; looking extremely confident. Her facial features (or lack thereof) have been so awful to watch for the duration of this hearing so far. Her fake sadness at times yesterday, then immediately back to normal when she would write something, look back up and put the frown back on her face. It’s truly unbelievable to watch.

Anger in texts is universal! Under influence can make people say mean things, everyday.
This is tragic. I've grown up in a family full of narcissists like Amber appears to be. They rile you up so hard that you cannot stand it, up to the point of insanity. They gaslight you and then you feel like you're actually the crazy one. The magnitude of frustration they cause is incomprehensible. I've never punched anyone, hurt anyone physically, but I did vent to my friends. It was the only thing I got. Otherwise you just can't handle it. I'm a pretty emotional, artistic person myself and sought the release in music, but it's not enough, the emotions need to be put into words and just vented out. And when I finally turned 18 and left them behind I still had to live with heavy trauma. It's been years, I'm attending therapy, and I've used substances the same way Johnny described: sporadically, far apart, not to party but to numb the pain. There's no difference between taking medication a psychiatrist prescribes and taking some other drug when you're not heavily addicted - and then you have a DISEASE. Addicts aren't criminals, they're in need of help. Johnny taking some drug once in a while isn't a testament of his character, not one tiny bit. I hope the jury doesn't take the bait and doesn't see him as a criminal for smoking pot or snorting a line of cocaine a few times, that would've been psychotic.
Statistically speaking, I would wager that at least 1 of those jurors had a substance issue in the past. However improbable, it is not implausible.
And by substance issue I am generalising so as to include any negatively understood vice that impacts the subject mentally, physically, or in the socioeconomic interactions they have. Whether it's smoking, drugs, booze, scratch tickets; even deep fried food; failing to moderate temptation is cause for concern.

Apparently it's wasting the Court's and the jury's time for Johnny to apply context to the question he is answering, but not wasting the Court's time by not being prepared with evidence that he is submitting, repeating questions unnecessarily, repeating videos unnecessarily, and having prosecution and the judge call him out for multiple mistakes when submitting evidence as if he's just "forgetting" to redact info or formally ask to submit evidence. Asking Johnny a question to confirm evidence but then not tell him directly where it's at. That lawyer is a joke to the court.

Watching this back now after the trial has ended, this cross-exam had such little effect compared to Camille's cross of Amber. The pacing was slow, and the texts although certainly not a great look, pale in comparison to things Amber said and did.
Rottenborn not letting Johnny provide any context for texts and other things didn't do AH's side any favors. I understand why questions were framed like that, but it just made Rottenborn look bad instead of the intention to make Johnny look bad.
They couldn’t tie any of Johnny’s texts to any physical evidence, there was none!

Since I’ve been following Mr Depp’s case (I call him Mr because he’s earned my respect as he’s always had it and proved his gentleness and kindness already for me in this case), I have learned that, as a man, in the event of a heated argument, it is best to keep quiet, and be a “fool”, because justice served is quite slim when it comes to us men, it always favors women, regardless the amount of strain and emotional distraught some women would put us through, and those texts can be used against you and be TOTALLY BLOWN OUT OF PROPORTION, to paint a picture of WHO YOU ARE out of events that anybody normal would react.
There are bad men and bad women. Period. Heard is a bad woman. She is grasping. Men do this to women too, to make a woman appear hysterical. Take texts out of context etc. Men are not victims any more or any less than women are. Depp is forthcoming, Heard isn't. Pretty clear what the dynamic is.

They were both childish and petty towards each other but we have to remember she took it one step further and ruined his career by making false allegations and publicly humiliating him. I’m all for women speaking out and fighting for justice against their abuser but this is in no way a battered women.
Even 1 year later, revisiting this trial-its so clear that Amber’s legal team were so disorganized. It’s as if Elaine said, “All of you, follow my lead” then gave them no direction as to delegating tasks-when 1 of the other attorneys on her team would have done better.
I feel you should show all text at that time to get the full story not just the threatening ones. You can't just read one message you can take things out of context.

I do believe Johnny clarified that he called that way a specific type of drug that he had a dependence on for many years (even before he met AH)? So I'm not getting what the lawyer is trying to imply here... well, I actually do; yet it seems using the definition "monster" to try and make the jury think that thatwas a reference to some kind of wild, violent side of himself, when Johnny already stated the word "monster" was a reference to a specific drug... pretty sad and weak to me. He said some things about her in private text messages to various friends out of anger and frustration, but that is different than publicly smearing someone like she has done or actually causing someone physical harm, which I do not believe he has. I can’t believe his legal counsel isn’t objecting to any of this.
I’ll add this - smoking pot, drinking and taking drugs does NOT automatically make someone a physical abuser so the point her lawyer is trying to make is a moot point. JD has openly admitted to his use of all of those things.

Sorry disagree. I was married to a raging alcoholic. They are monsters. The mental screwing was horrific. He wants to blame this part of himself on his traumatic childhood but he of all people has had the monetary resources to receive every kind of therapy possible. He got into a relationship as a addict and they are ticking time bombs, in fact monsters in their active addiction, definitely not a spouse. Not saying she is healthy emotionally but being with an addict brings out a unrelenting anger that she in no doubt will need ptsd therapy treatment before she can again be in any kind of relationship.
On what grounds should they object?
Depps lawyers objecting to the prosecutors cross examination all the time would make Depp look guilty of hiding or covering up his actions and words.

Trust, me and my boyfriend had big rows, he's really annoyed me, and I've sent similar texts as what Johnny wrote about Amber to people, I have a very dark sense of humour, doesn't mean I'm violent or would actually do it 🤣🤣 I understand Johnny's humour.
