I followed your advice exactly. I took 4 nut slots down so the bottom of the string was at 0.25mm. The first and second strings were already touching the feeler gauge so I didn't bother with them. Then I ended up taking 2 mm off the bottom of the bridge. The action is perfect with those exact set of strings you show in the video, but I have something ridiculous like 0.3 mm clearance between the 1st string and the bridge block. There's no buzzing however and the guitar plays like a dream. I would suggest that on guitars like this one you remind people that the little strip of plastic underneath the bridge is not a shim, its a pickup! This was a great tutorial and I appreciate you doing this because now my acoustic plays a lot more like an electric.
I have one of these Guitars very pleased with it. Bought new action was unplayabley high ok after set up , not perhaps for complete beginner as they are big and are heavy just my opinion, mine came with shadow electronics.
For recording purposes, lighter strings give better results, tonally, note separation etc. I have one of these, fine guitars but I elected to replace the bridge/saddles and nut completely. The included Fishman electronics are prime candidates for an upgrade. This Epiphone model is worth investing in if the guitar suits or serves a particular need. ✌️
Lovely guitar those epiphone acoustics, the only thing I find sometimes is under saddle pickups string balance when I've taken material off the saddle, getting them flat is the hardest thing, the times I've had to mess around with the saddle to get the piezo sounding right is an art in itself 😊
Hi, may I ask you please what size of truss rod key for epiphone ej200sce do I need to buy? Any link? Thanks a lot for your lovely video, very helpful indeed!
Great video! It stans for Single Cut(away) Electric and it is a rosewood fretboard 😉 I disagree with changing the strings to 10's, this guitar's sound and character comes from it's unique attributes one of which being the 12ga strings. Due to it being an Epiphone, a beginner could afford this but the real deal J-200, being expensive and being the king of the flat tops is not a beginner guitar it is a guitar to aspire to when the guitarist "deserves to own" a guitar of such historical significance and character. Only my opinion. The Ej-200sce is great I love mine! The new one (late 2019- present) is very much less appealing. The shadow esonic2 instead of being updated with the esonic2 HD like in my DR500MCE they went with the fishman presys system and it is garbage! #1 it has a gap around it and you can see into the guitar's body and #2 it's the cheapest looking plastic that I've ever seen on anything. I don't really care too much about what strings I use but for my acoustics I'm starting to trend towards the Earthwoods.
I only use DR Dragon Skin strings on my acoustics. Beeter than Elixir's in my opinion and if you buy the sets that have 2 sets, they are half the price of Elixir's. Regards, Victor...

I've just purchased the same guitar what oil did you use for the fret board?
Lemon Oil. Look for brands by Peavey / Dunlop / D'Addario etc

Hello how can we repair the buzz noise from the magnets for this model
I do not understand your question but if you mean electrical interference or electrical buzz, it sounds like a grounding issue. Victor...
what kind of fishman pickup did you install?
I don't know! These are client guitars and I do 100's of them. I don't remember many of the guitars I work on...
