Thats what most people in those Tank vs Mech debates allways forget: get an armor punch through on a mech... you CAN explode, you CAN lose a limb, you CAN loose weapons. If a tank gets an armor punch through? It gets destroyed! Because in the end its a lunchbox and any projectile big enough to punch through the armor will completly ravage the inside of a tank. And thats just the real life comparison. On the tabletop you have SRMs, LBX, LRM... anything that causes alot of shotgun damage will easaly cripple a tank due to you getting a chance to crit on every point or group of damage points. Wich incidently makes Battle armor quite a nightmare for combat vehicles. Doesnt mean that combat vehicles are useless, they make for great force multipliers, and alot of them are vicious in ambushes. The humble SRM carrier is a sitting duck out in the open, but in a city? It becomes the predator.. you do not want to turn a corner and come to stand infront of one of those....
Good video! I remember the first time I ever used a hovercraft. Opponent was scared of it. It sideskidded into a forest and died turn 1. Glory to hovercrafts!
My favorite vehicles in the HBS game are the Manticore, and the Challenger. Their combination of mobility and weapons make them very versatile and handy to have on most missions.
My favorite in BTA 3062 is also the Manitcore. To me it stands in for an equivalent weight mech. Good mobility, good at multiple range brackets and enough firepower to stand toe to toe with most medium mechs and can go crit seeking against bigger ones. SRM Carrier just makes tactical math silly. I also fibd myself with a Chaperrel if available...because Arrow IV. Great vid BD
I don't know why but the Svantovit has always been a favorite of mine. Something about the art and the concept really spoke to me. I think if had to drive a vehicle in Battletech that wasn't a vtol... it would be the Svantovit. Or the Epona. 😂
Irl Tanks are Limited in how Broad they can get. They have to be transported by rail in mass. Even streets and Bridges have Limits. Cross country for strategic deployment is too fuel consuming and creates a Lot of wear and tear. In Order to still be able to Turn, the Relation between lenghts and width is also fixes within a certain spectrum
The Hetzer is great. Why did someone resurrect a mediocre tank destroyer from WWII, swap the treads for wheels and mount an AC-20 on it? Don't know, but I'm glad they did.
Şoarece. The most irrational response to a rational problem, promptly abandoned when a much more reasonable tank became available. I love that dumbass thing so much, even if it is objectively awful in almost every way.

The Goblin is a lovely little IFV, and a great mascot for the Davion RCT concept. One of my first and favorite vehicles.
You know, you don't often see someone who enjoys the simple things in life such as a good IFV. I appreciate that answer.

Appreciate it! :)
The Alacorn is definitely one of my favorites. I'm also a fan of the Demolisher and Schrek.
Based Alacorn enjoyer.

Manticore's a good tank in pretty much every era it exists in. Just a basic solid vehicle.
I dunno enough about combat vehicles to say which is my favorite, but I do love hovercraft and vtols in general.
Hovers are fun. Check out the Saladin for a real good time.
ABT - Always Be Tanking
All my homies Always Be Tanking.

Both great choices!
I love tanks and infantry! My favourite vehicles: Alacorn, Mars (HAG) and Tyr.
Savannah Master. I don't need to defend myself.
Not that you could with just one Medium Laser. :D
Seriously though, I like the Savannah Master too. Nice little swarmer.

Svantovit, an unconventional choice!
Right?! I dunno... when I first saw it in the 3060 Tech Manual... I just fell in love with it.
Ha ha butte Hold!

Makes sense to me. BT can obviate this a little with the ability to use fusion engines and such, but the basic constraints probably still apply.
LRM Carrier has been solid support for 20+ missions. Squishy, but worth it.
The Carriers are quite solid little tanks for sure.

Darn straight.

I do love the Royal Demon
Great choice.
Balancing tanks is very hard. How do you think the click game got the balance with them?
I don't have a great opinion on clickytech in general so I tend to ignore whatever it decided to do. As far as I've heard, it did basically ok.
