No doubt it will perform well, just like the radio in this video. Unfortunately for amateur radio use, not having CW makes it less desirable for the serious amateur radio user. Don't really understand the reasoning for it when the George 2 already covered the export market. Kind of a confusing move, but I'm sure it will sell well in all parts of the world President has a presence.
Ok, to answer my own question. They use a diode to catch the peak and not a multiplication circuit. (Bird I believe uses 2.86 x) This diode is really sensitive and picks up initial overshoot. I don’t know if the diode is in the coupler (probably?) or the main unit. Good reading.
Thanks for sharing, loving the old school treasures at beginning of video. 🎙️🎙️🎙️
Nice video. 73 from South Cali.

The free Bluetooth mic is a mail in rebate. Says it takes up to 8 weeks to get. I got mine in 8 DAYS! Thanks again Mike 73!
Awesome.
The new President Washington coming out looks quite nice

@@ScottsRadios I am pretty sure it is aimed at people who want the form, layout and function of the George FCC with higher wattage.
80+watts
Lil Buddies Radios..
Like the george fcc but waiting for the president washington
Washington looks nice
Shouldn't have to wait much longer.
I still have my export 10m/12m President George I ordered nearly 20 years ago, I’m curious about the Washington.
I think the Washington will be really good.
Especially since they have it fan kit to keep it cool.
I never got to try the original George multi mode.
I was a big fan of the HR 2510 / Lincoln.
Is that a 8719/8734 Washington? The box looked too new to be an 858 version.
It's the Uniden early 90's model. I'm not sure which chip it has.
Nice
Is the Washington for sale
No on the Base Washington.
Is there a jumper in president washington for open cb bands ?
I think it's going to require some level of soldering.
Do the LP actually read peak or are they using a circuit to estimate? For their cost they should actually read peak.
Do some research.
Worth the 💰

Peak meters that do not use a power source to operate are a waste of time.
Although I slightly agree, some work fairly well and some do not. Not everybody wants to spend hundreds of dollars on a power meter.
