    I test drove the 2014 Corolla S last week and it was an awesome car, Nice interior and features. Drove up a steep hill and still felt the pull.

    Getting real tired of these "car guys" calling Toyotas boring. Let me tell you something. I owned a Mustang before and that thing broke down so many times that just trying to get home from work was an adventure. I'll take reliable over adventurous any day!

    • @Tropic_Thunderzz
      @Tropic_Thunderzz 10 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Then those car guys aren't really "car guys" or car enthusiasts, are they? Someone who truly loves cars will see the great things a car has to offer, even a Prius. As for me, I love every type of car and learning about them.

    I love the all new corolla well done Toyota! I drove one today it handles really well and is very comfortable. I used to hate corolla's just cause they were so blah and bland but after sitting in one you start to understand why they are the #1 selling compact

    I like the styling. I used to drive a 2006 Corolla S. I sold it several years ago cause it got too small for me (I'm over 6ft). It didn't have a single problem for the 5 1/2 years I drove it. This version is surprisingly much roomier than my 06 was & I have plenty of room whenever I sit in one at the LA Auto Show I go to every year. I went with a Camry though cause the Corolla isn't powerful enough for my tastes & I bought one with the V6 for it's extra refinement & rarity.

    I have the 2008, got it in 2007...last time of that type, for me I like the older 2000's styling...and the later 2000's ( 2002 - 2009 ). The newer ones seem to have no real good styling, but I like the interior better than mine, and the years I mentioned, plus finally in the trunk a better idea for the cargo...a rubber liner for those muddy boots!!

  • @76carmel
    @76carmel 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Agree. However, Toyota knows it can't lose their faithful Corolla customers. I just wish the LE Eco engine and transmission comes available as an option in the higher trim levels, mainly the S.

    I didn't like it when I first saw it, but now I love it! Looks a lot better than the 10th gen! I drove a 9th gen 2006 Corolla S for 5 1/2 years with no problems & now drive a 2007 Nissan Altima, but am planning to go back to Toyota when the time comes cause I've had some problems with my Altima even though it's a very fun car. I would buy a Camry though cause I want a very roomy car like my Altima provides for me now. I'm over 6ft tall & the Corolla isn't roomy enough for me anymore.

    Not only Toyota faithful will be thrilled, also a new Toyota Corolla buyers. Im a Honda Civic faithful, but with the Civic current model. It reminds me of 2001 Dodge Neon. And the interior is to futuristic for my likings. I miss the old Civic interior with simple dashboard/gauges... or at least design it close to current Honda Accord interior/gauges.

    Drove this car as a rental in S trim for a week and overall it is a decent car. Ride is a little rough because of the low profile tires. Handling is improved over previous gens. Interior and trunk space is amazing. CVT pairs well extracting the limited engine power. Got 36mpg combined. Didn't like the tiny rear backup screen which is too low in the dash. Road noise is high. Makes for a good traffic commuter car as it's highly maneuverable, easy to see out of, and CVT makes the car jump in response to throttle.

  • @jab1720

    I have to say this a well done car that doesn't have a cheap feeling and in many ways rivals the Camry. The interior has a higher quality to it than the base Camrys and the Avalonish style dash (also used in the newest Lexus ES/GS models) makes the Camry already look dreadfully dated. The engine is just fine - this ain't no race car and no one will drive it as such.

      What's better? I'm a corolla guy, never had a civic, im curious. I have an le eco. On the highway 65-70 with cruise control i can get over 50 mpg. In bumper to bumper city with ac on ive never gotten less than 36.5, it's amazing

    • @halvieyra6141
      @halvieyra6141 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@876r876rf I have close family who own Corollas. There's nothing wrong with them, they're really good at being fuel efficient and practical but that's about it. Civics handle and accelerate better than Corollas when comparing the same generation, but sacrifice gas mileage and a slightly higher price point. I just weigh my values against what each car offers. I don't consider mpg meaningful because my last car was a mustang, so I didn't care whether my new one got 38 or 40 mpg.

      @roperider8541 10 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Hilarious. Did you know that Toyota was awarded the "All-American" car company of the year? How? Toyotas in USA are manufactured with more American components than Ford, GM etc. In fact, most of GM and Ford components are made in Mexico and China, and only a small portion of the car is domestic. If you want an American car buy Japanese, if you want a Chinese/Mexican car buy American. I support American jobs, unlike you, "Mr. Lopez", who seems more concerned for your cousins across the Southern border, rather than American jobs.

      JayCee Garcia Yes, for example, the American MotorTrend Car of The Year Award, which from 1949 to 1999 only considered "American" cars, but then had to include "non-American" cars because, in the words of car analyst Angus Mackenzie..."it's so hard to say that, for example, a Toyota Camry, built in Kentucky USA and designed in California USA, is any less American than a Ford that has been built in Canada or Mexico and designed in Europe."
