Slade - HOW DOES IT FEEL - Top Of The Pops

- I thought it was about time I threw this into the mix, a track that the writer of the choon, Slade maestro Jim Lea has revealed is his favourite Slade track, Lea maintains that it was the first song he ever wrote as a pimply youth, and all Slade fans are glad he did, and glad that it was still around to be given the Holder/Lea treatment for the film soundtrack of 'Flame'
This grainy black and white footage that was broadcast by the BBC on their flagship pop chart show Top of the pops on the 6th February 1975, the day before its official UK release.
Luckily it was recorded on a very early home video format and even more luckily for us Slade fans it was recovered in 2017, and even luckier for all Slade fans, was sent to me anonymously by a benefactor whoi wants all music fans to be able to see the footage in more or less its original glory...no ugly EGOmarks.
Rumour has it that it was also recorded by someone who had a video system that could record a colour signal.
Who knows!
Slade In England.......you know it makes sense.
The original and best...imitation is the most sincere form of flattery....on the shoulders of Giants.......
Thanks again David another video without watermarks across it
The best song Slade ever recorded in my humble opinion and reflected in part, thanks to Noddy's lyrics and melancholy, soulful singing , the grittiness and highs and lows of the music industry depicted in the film Slade in Flame. Brilliant.
And there's still people who think that all Slade could do, was write loud bawdy 3 minute rock songs... The best song of 1975 in my opinion.
I believe its still criminally neglected by the mainstream music types...
@greywolf907 Noel Gallagher has been very complimentary about the song...Wisely, he's never attempted to pilfer it.
@@denzilodonnell He's too busy pilfering from The Beatles.
Ken Bruce played it regularly after his pop master quiz when on Radio2, he’s played it again on GHR but not as much
Jimmy and Nod's Lennon and McCartney moment might just be the best song of the '70s.
😊Forever the best Rock Band of the world !! Noddy, Dave, Jim and Don have the spirit and the heart of Rock n' Roll beating juste under their skin !! Thanks for all, guys !! Merci les gars !! Vous m'avez TOUT apporté !!! Gracias por todo !!!

Absolutely brilliant track. When all the horns kick in is just a great moment
It is a classic music track, still criminally under rated by the mainstream music types.....but we know....
Brilliant song. Such and underrated band.
Thanks for uploading this David, one of their best no doubt although Slade's back catalogue is littered with gems like this
It's the most accomplished in my book for sure....cheers Nigel!
Thanks for sharing, Dave. Never seen this . Great memories of what was a great band
My pleasure Simon, and as always, so happy to be able to bring these clips to a wider audience, I actually think its Gary Jordan that is anonymously sending me these clips so as not toblot his own copybook....Cheers Gary!

Отличная песня, душевная. Спасибо, товарищ за трансляцию!
Great song. Has grown on me over the years.
Oooh controversial!! lol...was it not a favourite from day 1 then Peter?
@greywolf907 Too immature to appreciate it fully as a 15 year old. Probably preferred FFA at that time.
A real Slade gem now.
Stoker , Barry , Paul and Charlie great Band Flame !!short lived but my they rivalled the Sargent peppers lovely hearts club band
Excellent work David. Puts other video posters (to paraphrase a gig review of yore) "so far behind you'd have to pump air into 'em".
Slade In England - you know it makes sense.
Unlike others I am more interested in every Slade fan getting the opportunity to see these clips in full without dancing EGOmarks....

Such a seriously good band and a great laugh to watch!!😅
Superb upload DG. Thanks a million for posting
Funny really, they say you lose your accent when you sing but I hear Noddy's black country twang clear as day on this track. Great song.
Thanks very much for posting this, it's very much appreciated, and so much more enjoyable to watch without the stupid, annoying, egotistical watermark!
Thank you Richard, I very much appreciate your comments and continued support....:)
Love Slade
Excellent!
Наконец то увидел Дейв Хила играющего на басу !
Cheers cock.. :)
❤
Live vocal from Nod ?
Yes indeeed Alan..the piano is live too....the brass obviously is on playback...not sure about anything else....yet!
@@greywolf907 would've been nice to see the brass section playing live, Gonzales ?
@@alanwhitney3263 Yes..members of Gonzalez.....
Double tracking as best he could in the circumstances.
GREAT TRACK YES....but completely the WRONG direction for Slade...the 'FUN' was gone with this, the 'audience participation'....it looked so BORING......SO 'CLASSICAL'....
