Pretty much, but it's more difficult than that. Warmer oceans at the equator weaker the ocean currents that mix water. South africa is next to the Aghulas-current, pushing warm water from the indian Ocean into the Antarctic/southern ocean. If it weakens the southern Ocean cools down, cooling the southern tip of africa alongside it.

Only if outdoors, without shelter from the wind, lacking food, or in very extreme conditions. Depends on the breed of sheep too. In the Scottish Borders, it's not unusual for a whole flock of Blackface Sheep or even Cheviot Sheep to survive perfectly well during a blizzard. Sometimes they are huddled together for warmth but completely buried under the snow. If it's light and fluffy (below about -2C), they still manage to breathe. The shepherds have to use the sheepdog to find them, then dig a hole so they can all follow each other out. Then supply them with turnips and hay to eat, since the grass is buried too and not growing at that time of year. A much bigger problem is if the snow becomes ice, then they can't scrape through it with their hooves to find grass. Or if the snow melts, freezes and makes them waterlogged. The weight of the waterlogged wool CAN mean they get trapped, drown, starve etc. But dry, fluffy snow is rarely a problem for adult sheep, as not only is their wool insulating, so is the snow itself. That's how mountaineers caught in blizzards can survive well by digging themselves a 'snow hole' (burrow) in the snow. It traps warm air and protects them from wind-chill. Bigger, 'softer', downs breeds of sheep aren't as hardy. Such as Suffolks, Leicester, Texel. They'll live outdoors when it's snowing, but not appreciate being buried in it. Scotland and Wales both have snow. So does New Zealand. And these countries have lots of sheep. In mountainous areas it might be a couple of days before a shepherd finds and digs out all their sheep. In the book The House By The Dvina, a Scotsman living near St Petersburg in Russia, before the Revolution, kept Shetland Sheep, from Scotland. I think it was about -30C during the day. He brought them in at night in the winter, partly to protect against wolves. And fed them hay in winter. But they are even more hardy than Blackface Sheep, and survived fine. Even the lambs of Blackface and Cheviot breeds do well outdoors. A farmer locally, who has his lambs outdoors from two days old, was caught one year by a late snowstorm towards the end of lambing. Despite only having space in his sheds for a quarter of the sheep and lambs, he managed to rotate them so they were in for eight hours then out for twenty four. And over the four days of snow, only had four out of about eight hundred lambs die. And as he said, since they were all so young, those ones might have died anyway. When he put them out from the shed, he DID put the polythene bag 'raincoats' on the lambs. As they ARE susceptible to getting a chill with rain before their wool grows in. I hope this answers your question.
I looked it up, and you should really keep sheep above about -20C or -28F. They CAN cope with some wind chill in addition to that, but best to have some shelter from the wind, such as a stone wall or bushes. If necessary, they WILL scrape hollows for themselves in a hillside.
