    I have no intention of going into lawn care. I have no intention of building a franchise system. I am from a totally different part of the world. But damn Mike, your energy and passion are addictive. I have been binge-watching your videos for days now and finally managed to sit down and get some things for my TH-cam channels going. Thank you!

    I bought 2.5 acres and was lucky the seller held the mortgage for me. Its paid off and one of the best decisions I have made.

      I bought 10 acres 35 years ago on a land contract. I paid that off and my wife and I built our first house on it. In hindsight there is some risk with that. If the seller dies or goes bankrupt it can be difficult getting the property.

    Right To Farm laws vary from state to state but a lot of lawn care/landscape companies use it to get by zoning ordinances. Buy 5 acres, put up a pole barn and plant 4 acres of landscape type trees. Run your lawn business out of the building and maintain your “tree farm” at the same time.

    To pull off what your talking about here would take 3-5 acres and fewer neighbors. Once you start dumping brush the Neighbors will bitch. In this situation I’d still find a place to dispose of debris. Part of the dump fee is processing the material to resell it. On a half acre you’re going to have to deal with a big brush pile at some point. Burning it with neighbors that close won’t go over well.

    $100,000 for a half acre lot that lot is only worth $2,500 to $10,000 in northern Michigan just depends on what county it's funny how things are so different and Michigan is a really nice state we have lakes every few miles

    So what happens when the nighbors complain? I was dumping on my property and the neighbor raised a stink with the county. We had to stop. The county started a lawsuit and wanted an environments impact statement. This is on 5 acres in the country. We currently rent a location for $1200 per month.

    Practical video but better if it was not hypothetical and you time lapse this video with actually taking possession of the property and then showing the improvements, and then showing the 6 months of organic debri, and then the video would be powerful!!! Basically before and after…

    Hey mike! I currently have a friend that’s getting into real estate. He’s selling off 50 lawns. I just started my company last fall. I have 14 lawns. He selling the 50 lawns for the price of 4 mowings. That would fill up my schedule. If anyone switches providers or doesn’t go with me within the first 2 months I don’t pay for them. It would be about 9k for the 50 should I do it?

    • @jeffreymccormick133
      @jeffreymccormick133 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      My density isn’t amazing yet being my first season. I have a 48 inch exmark radius x with 130 hours on it. On smaller jobs I get about $60 an hour while on the job. Bigger lawns it comes to about $50 an hour while on the job. My friend charges a premium so if a job takes him 30 minutes solo he charges about $50 so his jobs are a lot more profitable.

    • @jeffreymccormick133
      @jeffreymccormick133 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I work about 12 hours a week on my lawns and then I do odd jobs the other days for various hours. So the way I see it is I have 30+ available hours I could be making $50 an hour with my mower. So In a sense I’m losing money every available hour I’m not working or if I’m only making $20 an hour I’m losing maybe $10-$20 an hour by not mowing
