I always like brainstorming some ideas for how to use these things :) -Map name metadata: You could use different maps but trick the player into thinking they're the same map. Let's say the story involves time-traveling to the past, and none of the houses were built yet. You use two different map IDs like "Cool Town (normal)" and "Cool Town (past)", but the metadata still makes the sign say "Cool Town" so the player doesn't see what they don't need to see. -For wild battle BGMs: You could devote one map to have extra strong wild pokemon and have it play an extra hype theme, and then an extra cool Music Effect when you capture it. Or, a map where you only encounter weird glitch pokemon, and have a weird glitched-out track play. -Hide Encounters On Map: Let's say you have a sidequest where you step into the shoes of another character, and make a specific map for them to go to. Anything they encounter in that map wouldn't show up in the Main Character's pokedex. -For Home locations for Players 1 and 2: This is kinda like Generation III where May and Brendan live in different houses. If your story has one main character with different art aesthetics, don't use this. But if your story has multiple characters that come from different places, then this would be how to specify that. -Trainer backsprites: on the Spriters Resource website, there's images for quite a few backsprites from Gen III and IV, which is a lot to take inspiration from :)
Oh my, I saw this channel after so long, it was so many years ago, I used to see your videos on how to create Pokemon games on RPGXP, I never was able to finish creating my own Pokemon game, but I did continue to learn game dev, I am a full-time game developer now for the past 1 and half a year, I am having to do to some contract work to keep the lights on, but will it be such an understatement if I say you were an inspiration for me growing up to become a game developer, I am so happy to see you are still continuing this, you definitely are one of my heroes and maybe my path is completely different now but I still aspire to create my own world of pocket monsters, perhaps someday when the sky is a bit less cloudy for me I will start to create my own Pokemon world again.

Hello Thundaga! I have added desert grass to my game but i cannot make the animation look proper. Is there a video that explains how to add new "walking over"-Animations? (Also, for tall grass aswell) I can draw a new animation similar to the one for grass, but i need heavy help making it work without just overwriting the normal one. Keep up your guides!
You ever noticed, that some moves don't work as in the original games? If so how to change that? A tutorial about that would be cool. For example I used a gen 8/9 pack and newer moves or abilities doesn't seem to work as intendet, the ability zero to hero or the move gigatonhammer with it's one turn skip after use.
If I wanted to make the player use a flashlight when entering a dark cave, how should I set the graphics of player holding a flashlight? Should I set a Player 3 with edited graphics and have an event in-game that toggles Player to Player3 and vice versa whenever they enter and leave a dark cave?
I was playing your pokemon vibe game and saw you used the unown font like in the pokemon tutorial series when you suggested you could make unown heiroglyphs or something so yeah
I dont know how else to reachout but I'm having problems with launching a playtest with Pokemon Essentials and RPGMaker XP. Its to do with mkxp-z saying No script file has been specified and to Check the game's INI. I don't know what I need to be looking for and I have downloaded v21.1 twice now with the v21 hotfixes but I'm still getting the same error. If anyone has guidance please help.
