I've just listened to Lipatti and Argerich play the intro to the finale and they BOTH do the rit she was telling the pupil NOT to do. Interesting...
There is no ritard in any score. That said, some traditions just happen! There are always 2 sides to every coin. I like following the composer
This student could do nothing right for her and left the class demoralized…
She is not really teaching, she is still competing with kids.
She wasted so much of his time over a G# or G Natural when the G# is also known to be acceptable and even more so some would argue.
She goes on a bit….picky picky
