I appreciate your long and very generous and kind comments. I am for sure an old lady and certainly not getting any younger. My house projects are just that. Little presents for those who catch them. Seems like hard copy anything is a relic of the past and reaches few. I have spent a lifetime on the subject of Motion and Emotion (my idea of piano technique). The idea is minimum effort for maximum effect and freedom of expression. My out of date website has some old thoughts on that. Wishing you all the best!

Thank you! So brilliant, fresh, nuanced, noble, lively, fluid! Seems so natural and effortless...
Thank you also for the transitions, I've never heard the etudes flowing to each other like that, creating a beautiful whole, as if in a single breath🌹

I attended the Aspen Music Festival decades ago and your masterclass inspired me. Here, you phrase more masterfully than I've heard anyone phrase for op 25 no 1. Thank you for this gem. I'm also curious how you get economy of motion as I struggle with pain/comfort. Clearly, you do not.

A few weeks ago, I started working on the 'Butterfly' Etude and listened to many interpretations by famous pianists. By chance, I came across this video now. And may I tell you something? I like your interpretation the best! The great pianists play it at such an incredible tempo. But you play it so wonderfully with so much expression! Simply fantastic! What a breath of fresh air to hear the manner in which these interpretations harken back to late 19th/early 20th century performance practices of allowing the individuality of the performer to beam forth, especially with the tempo nuancing, relatively light pedal, singing melody and short improvisations between movements.
Also, what a fantastic sounding piano! Looks to be from the 1880's?? Just magnificent. I'll be returning to these performances many times, for certain.

Bravo, Rebecca! Stupendous playing, so elegant, full of grace, ease, and the right Chopinesque touch and phrasing. Oh, and I love the modulatory bridges between the études, making them all interconnected! Wow and bravo❣️ 👏👏

Exactly. Like Hofmann she uses harmonic progressions at the ends to lull into the next key.The OceanEtudes beautiful chorale sings without SokolovsLisztian force and is remarkable !The musical idea came first and though this music is full of difficulties she m a kes no display. The Winter Wind has depth here BUT also sounds as gracious as a waltzhere.Something none of us has heard before in this music. Yet the highest 8ths in righthand are coaxed into a melody of their own.

This lady gives back to the etudes what thousands of pianists have stolen: their poetic character. Have you ever heard the thirds played like that? That‘s how we should imagine these jewels played by Chopin or his best pupils. I do not remember having been moved to tears when listening to those pieces.
