What is the Dam problem at Buckeye Lake in Ohio?

    The shifting ice would also shear off all of the dock supports and destroy the docks and things built on them . Thank you for your video. That is my home lake and we love it.

    We live in lockbourne so we knew that was an important area but didn’t know about the new path. Now we will have to go see it lol

    Buckeye Lake was formed by glaciers and is an example of a Kettle lake. The canal system may be true, but that isn't how it started.

      Buckeye Lake would be a swampy marsh (at best) had it not been for the building of the Canal System. The need to hold water caused the entire lake to form. Take away the dam and we return to a muddy marsh that would quite frequently dry up (relatively speaking) in summer months.

    Winter sports on the water is safer and freezes faster when it’s shallow in the winter when the depth is lower.

      It certainly does freeze over!
