I saw your scars. You help others. I have breast cancer and still have both breasts. I hate the medical system for how I have been treated. I am now vegan and take 14 supplements per day now. I thank you for talking about the medical profession. I have been deeply offended by two surgeons.

There are good surgeons. I don't want to say there aren't, but it's sad how many are unfeeling.

Deciding on mastectomy and reconstruction with DIEP flap ot going flat. Meeting surgeons next week. Chemo finished two weeks ago. Your videos are very helpful for me. Lots of tears as well. Thank you for continuing to share your journey. You are so strong to do this for anyone going through this journey.

I am 10 weeks post DIEP and undergoing chemo. My surgeon did a great job and I am really happy with the result. The extra recovery time was worth it.

The decision is so personal though. Good luck with your appointment.

I have to keep sharing, because others have done so for me, and that has been a tremendous help to me in my story. Thanks so much for saying that it's helping you!

Thanks for sharing your story. It is really difficult navigating the medical community and realizing that their word is not the final word. You really have to be your own advocate and mine information form other sources. I have found great comfort in consulting with a naturopathic with a specialty in oncology in my journey.

I really relate to that. Having doctors who have time to spend can be so nurturing, and makes up for some of the trauma of getting too little.

It's so important to feel comfortable with and be able to trust your surgeon. I got three different breast surgeon opinions so I could be sure I was going with the best one for me, and I feel better about my choices having done so.

So smart! Good for you. I'd love to see us set this as a standard for everyone.

My lymph node in the armpit is blocked and the lymph is filling up in arm and breast and it hurts very much, so I am very desperate for surgery...

Breast Surgery may not be the solution to this-it is probably more complex than that. You may need to see a Physical Therapist or a surgeon who specializes in Lymphadema probably, to explore options. Hopefully I’m understanding your question. The Burn podcast just featured the story of a lymphadema patient-this may be helpful to you. If I had a complex situation like yours, I’d travel to a major cancer center probably. Sounds terrible! I’m so sorry.

My breast is fully inflamed and in about to explode condition and in excruciating pain... Have been struggling to find a surgeon who will do the surgery... Most doctors i met here want me to go through chemotherapy instead... And I need immediate help...

You are stressing too much , in my opinion. I experienced similar health problems as you , but never received proposal from doctors about remove organs . For my breast tumor ( borderline phylode tumor ) I had to surgery intervention ( second for clear margins ) , without chemo , radiation , etc. No mastectomy

I enjoyed your video and found it to be very interesting. Just curious… you mentioned your mother had increased tumor markers. My oncologist will not order cancer antigen tests…does yours? And do you believe they are of any value?

@@ddh4692 I had to really push them to order mine. They were super reluctant to. I feel that it’s not perfect, but better than nothing.
