@@theofficialfriendlyretrievers It’s the people providing products and services to the consumer that’s greedy. Prime example: Congress stated in congressional hearing that many colleges are subsidized by the government yet colleges still up their costs to students because they know they’ll get the money from student loans. Money that goes to stockholders not to the students. That’s why tuition is so high. From greed not inflation.

Find another way to take your money out where the only thing that happens is that you pay a penalty for taking the money out too early. And pay the taxes on it. She is a lawyer, she knew this. So she's need to be held at a higher standard when she do wrong like this, because she knows better. She didn't even do her job while in Baltimore. Crime worsened under her time in the position and continues to worsen to this day. She just needs to do the time (which I don't think will be 40 years) and try to do better and change her attitude during this time. I'm trying to understand the issue with this lady. She BORROWED money from her retirement fund. Don't we all have the right to do that? Hell I have done that to cover a emergency expense then have to pay myself back at a percentage and it is listed as a loan via my companies rules. How is this not legal? I don't understand what she did wrong other than use it as downpayment for 2 houses? Is it because she said it was a hardship? This was her money thou... how is this wrong? I guess I still don't get it. Her 200,000 salary is ok, but what other expenses does she have. In todays economy that can quickly be not enough money if your paying a 2000 a month mortgage, light and water bill, car insurance, homeowners insurance we are all billed up like crazy. If she had robbed the local government of these amounts I could see this as a reason to do this to her, but this lady was doing some real work. Sure I think the buying 2 houses in Florida was excessive, but we don't know why she was doing that it may have been to help someone.
