Hey Chris, do you keep your bourkes and scarlet chested parrots together in the aviary? Can you also recommend this for the breeding season? Greetz Marcel
Hi Chris I got 3 pairs gouldians early in year the breeder told me to pair them end of year. The cocks were housed together as were hens. Cocks singing and dancing about and a couple of hens beaks hav turned dark so I put two pairs together 3 weeks ago but there not going near nest boxes and don’t seem much interested in each other what would u recommend Thanks
It could be that they are not quite ready for breeding yet. Make sure the female is responsive to the male when he sings if she is interested and ready she will sit and listen and she will usually respond with shaking her tail and possibly doing a version of the male dance. If you don’t see this behavior she may not be ready to breed yet. Also if they haven’t found the nest boxes you could possibly move them to a different location in the cage.
@ thanks Chris I think there not ready I’ve taken boxes out but kept them together I’ll watch them and return boxes wen there ready Hope u and ur family had a great Xmas and all the best for next year Luv ur channel so keep episodes common cheers
@@Scottishfinchthat’s probably a good move on your part. Make sure they’re ready and that the female is responding to the males courtships. Thank you! Hope your holidays when well also.

I do have them in the same cages now. When breeding my scarlets I do separate them as my males can get a little aggressive towards the bourkes.
