Good tips! One item I carry winter is a stylus, in case I need to check Trailforks, take a picture, etc. I can use the phone and gloves/mitts stay on so hands will keep toasty.
Great winter riding tips. I like to pack an extra beanie for the return ride home, my head often sweats, so I start off the ride with a lite weight beanie and which over to a warmer dry beanie for the second half of my ride.

Thanks for another great video! Just a thought, maybe you can also put the ziplocked handwarmers in the freezer? Should help to slow the chemaical reaction even more so they're good to go the next time!
Since the chemical reaction is exothermic (gives off heat), ironically, putting them in the freezer MIGHT actually speed the reaction. There's a story in Freshman chemistry where, in WWI, soldiers' coat buttons decayed faster in very cold temps because that decay gave off heat. See Le Chatelier's Principal. I put mine in a small glass jar. I've stored partially-used ones over the spring, summer & fall, taken them out the following winter and they heat up fine.

I have learned that friction from riding increases the pressure by about .25 PSI even in very cold temps. They have been very helpful in understanding what pressure to ride with different snow conditions.

For wireless headphones I use Beats Flex Bluetooth headphones. The batteries are on a lanyard that sits next to your neck and can be placed under a layer. I wear them working outside in all temperatures (but never while riding, go figure) and they run almost as long as they do inside. They are cheap, have decent sound, and last almost 8 hours. Probably not the best for perfect sound aficionados but I mostly listen to audio books. This December I wore them working in -20F temps for 4 hours and no problems at all.
I store my partially consumed hand warmers using a vacuum sealer. It's the same way the manufacturer package them. To minimize waste, put them in a larger bag, seal it, then carefully cut away just the sealed strip on next use. Reuse the bag again until it's too small to fit warmers.
Im.not big on having ear buds in while riding. If I do have one in, it's the right side (as it's the side away from traffic and such). I have Soundcore Life Dot 2 ear buds and they've never ever let me down yet. Doesn't matter the temps. I'm nit sure if they're built that well, or what. But I can say in the 5 yrs I've had mine they have been through hell and back, and STILL produce excellent results.

Great point :) That's fine if it works for you, especially if you're only dealing with 2-3 psi change. I typically have double that or more where I live. I do it outside to take the guesswork out and get a more exact reading... and like I said, my bike usually lives in the garage anyway. PS - if I freeze my hands while dealing with air before the ride even starts, I have no business going out and fat biking :) - Ride on!

I find it hard to get the bone conductive headphones in a comfortable place on my head with beanies. I haven’t used them in the brutal cold yet I’d think body heat would provide warmth.
