To be sure the tahini empties the measuring cup completely, squeeze the lemon juice into the cup to 1/4 line then add the tahini to the 1/2 line. Stir a little and then pour into the blender. Clean cup!
Absolutely delicious! I never liked hummus before but wanted to make it for my son's birthday because he and his wife love it. Now, I am a convert and love it, too. They say it's better than the restaurant's! Thank you!
Okay this is definitely the best hummus I ever had. So glad I made this today. I am 25 and having a baby in April. I moved out and when I did, my grandma bought me a whole case of chick peas… didn’t know what to do with all of them so I looked for a good hummus recipe. Definitely will keep making this !!! I don’t even have a food processor and accomplished this with the blender. So smooth and fluffy 😩
The aquafaba that she mentions in the video is an excellent substitute for eggs in vegan cooking. If you are not going to use the liquid from the can, you can freeze it in a zip lock bag and use it in baking or added to soups and stews. Full of nutrients! I love Middle Eastern food and eat chickpeas a couple of times a week. Cooked with cumin, smoked paprika, garlic and onion (and other seasonings like dried lime and sumac, as desired) served over or cooked with rice is a nutrious and very quick meal. I bought a large used processor and found it's a bother to clean for making a small amount of food like this. I just shopped for a blender specifically to make hummus. I am glad to know it will work. Blessings on the baby! 😊
So far this is the closest to the Middle Easter hummas recipe I have come across. Try smoked paprika instead of sumak, and Middle Eastern pickels with the hummas. Delicious
I've been using your hummus recipe for about a year but I didn't know about whipping the tahini and lemon. Will do that next time. Thanks for this delicious and easy recipe.
That hummus looks so smooth and delicious. I had done one before, but it was kind of dry. This one looks perfect. Thank you for sharing. I love chickpeas, and this is a wonderful and delicious way of using them. You've encouraged me to do them again. 😊
I'm so excited! You've answered some important questions! I'm so grateful that you were willing to share your secrets! Thanks so much xx Here we go! Yippee!!!
What size food processor do you use? I have a large 8-cup one and a mini one that came with my immersion blender. I have a feeling the mini one will be too small, but the big one will be too large.
Hey.. your hummus looks amazing! I really wanna try to make it!! I’m new to making sauces/speads etc soooo.. can I ask a stupid question.. I really dnt like garlic.. is it essential for the recipe? Could I substitute it with something else if possible.. or if I just left it out.. would it make tht much difference.. Thnks for you time.
I made this, I removed the skins it was tedious but I kinda considered it therapy. I added some jar roasted red peppers because thats what I had. Next time I’ll roast my own. This was amazing and I mean amazing, thank you so much. I will never buy hummus from the grocery store again. ❤️💯
I’ve made this before and it was delicious. Couldn’t find the recipe today so I followed another recipe on TH-cam. What a disappointment!!! Saving your video because it is the best!!!!
Store homemade hummus in an airtight container and refrigerate for up to one week. Freeze, covered with a thin layer of olive oil, for up to one month.
Thanks sooo much ! This is great hommus. I've been trying to make a good one from time to time and always revert back to my bought favourite, Pilpel (I'm in Australia). Thanks to this recipe I'll no longer be buying my hommus. I did this according to the directions - it's amazing ! ! ! ! 😋😋
I watched a video on how to cut food costs without losing out on favorite foods. The example the woman gave was making hummus. You can make it much cheaper if you make your own tahini (which I haven't done yet) and cooking dried chickpeas instead of using canned. It will avoid the preservatives and other additives we don't need. Now I am shopping in bulk which I always did before. Bon aperitif!
It’s good but we don’t put olive oil nor cumin to the mix. Instead we put paprika and olive oil on top at the end. Also a good tip instead of water use ice cubes it makes the hommos more smooth and the color lighter.
What are grits exactly. Made from what and wonder if we would find it in Belgium. it looks almost like mashed potatoes, but not as smooth. Maybe when something is very common in the US maybe for those of us not living g there anymore an alternative might be useful. I spent ten years in the US and never ate Grits!
Grits are typically southern, made from a type of rough corn meal. Instead of oatmeal or cream of wheat. Similar, but different to polenta. Eaten sweet or savory, often for breakfast, but also can be as a full meal, like Shrimp and Grits. So depending on the part of the US you may not have heard about them. Not common outside of the south.
Usually once open its stored in the fridge to extend shelf life, but probably like peanut butter, hot sauce or catsup, not absolutely necessary to put it in the fridge. Likely personal preference.
When it comes to recipes, I find using bottled lemon juice works best. Fresh lemons can end up being too sour, too sweet, or too bitter. No two lemons ever taste the same. With bottled juice, it will always taste the same.

This is by far the best hummus recipe around and have used this for years. Thank you! I add roasted garlic powder and smoked paprika.
Do you add the roasted garlic powder to the hummus? Or sprinkle on top? I love garlic!

Thanks for that suggestion. I have some smoked paprika at home.
Sounds great! And some have put like hot chickpeas on top too?
I've been using your hummus recipe for about a year but I didn't know about whipping the tahini and lemon. Will do that next time. Thanks for this delicious and easy recipe.

@niss56 For quick removal of skin; take a handful between your 2 open hands (as if you are clapping) and rub them. Saves time.
Thanks for sharing 👍
I love this channel✨❤️
How long can we store it?
I don't have a food processor, is it possible to use a Nutribullet for this?
I used my nutrabullet and it worked out fines. You may need to scrape the jar a little more to ensure everything is mixed well.😊
I’ve made this before and it was delicious. Couldn’t find the recipe today so I followed another recipe on TH-cam. What a disappointment!!! Saving your video because it is the best!!!!
Call it what you will, this is delicious!
Hope you enjoy
thank you so much for this. 🙂
You're welcome 😊
Instead of water try ice cubes will give it creamy smooth texture.
How long does the hummus last in an airtight container in the fridge?
Eye bread, roasted and cut into crispy strips is excellent with this hummus.
roasted vegetables recipe would be nice. do you have a link to it

They are not grits, they are chickpeas, which are pulses. Google for a translation of "chickpeas" to your language.
THANK YOU!
You're welcome!
Your Hummus is the best out there!! Laszlo Montreal.
Thank you so much! Happy Cooking
Question, why store tahini in fridge? In my local there are tahini that are sold on the shelf instead of the fridge and they last for years.

IT IS NOT ARE FAMILY -- IT IS OUR
What amount of chickpeas, if not using canned?
The full recipe is on inspiredtaste.net
I checked the site, it doesn't specify
@@befilldthe site says 15 oz can or 1 1/2 cups cooked.
Can you make it in a blender?
Yes others have said it can be done
yes
what is sumac?
Our apologies, what are you asking about?
It says I can use sumac instead of paprika
yummy !
I accidently destroyed two food processors from making homemade tahini sauce. 😭😭
Nice
Best Hoomos ever and sooo creamy!
Sending Love ❤@Susie.....Are you single?
GIVE ME HUMMUS, OR GIVE ME DEATH!! Overall, i LOVE this video.
Nice video but your recipe webpage is unusable with all the stupid ads.
Some pine nuts on top😋
Yum
In india it is called chhole bhature just that you have made a paste out of it and removed a bunch of spices
Yeah, not the same thing at all, just because chole are used. 🙄
Please, what a stretch.
❤❤
No need to use all that oil which adds extra calories and saturated fat. Aquafaba makes my hummus light and fluffy.
1/4 cup lemon juice is really a lot. This ended up tasting like lemon and not much else. 😓really disappointing
Feel free to reduce the lemon no worries 💙💛
It’s up to you how much you like to add.

@@jackiekearney not when I trust someone's recipe for the first time and it turns out inedible
🖐 luv U
Thank you so much
PLEASE - IT IS NOT HUUMUS - HOOMOS, HUUMUS IS A TYPE OF SOIL - HOOMOS IS CHICK PEAS AND YOUR MAKING HOOMOS BIL TAHINI (chick peas with tahini)

No worries feel free to adjust to your preference.
Commercial humus has too much salt.
