This was the highlight of Shippuden, after the Pain-arc it kind of went downhill. Currently it's not bad, but Pain was just a top-notch villain with an amazing backstory.
eh. I dont think it went downhill. I think it was just the pain arc was so good that ut made the next arcs look bad. The Kage summit is a 7/10 and war arc is a 8/10 for me. I just think the pain qas naruto's highest peak

I was tearing up along side Jiraiya. The guts to never give up and keep fighting until the very end. Those words near the very end. "Give up...? You'll never... make me... GIVE UUUUUUUP!!!" I too was shouting with Jiraiya mashing that button as if my life depended on it. R.I.P Jiraiya. The man who never gave up and stared death in the face with no regrets.
The last rasengan was so friggin epic. This was so sad that I was on the verge of tears but when the last button cue came up, I started screaming with Jiraiya and started mashing my controller so hard that it just shut off lol.
The Naruto Series does a great job at making you tear up. When Asuma and Jiraiya died, I cried. It's a great series and I enjoy watching it. Great vid, great scene, great series.
2:37 to 3:22 was outright the best moment in any naruto game so far, no arguments. the face at 2:58 just makes the entire thing even more awesome. some weird kind of 3D anime design that makes anything used on it epic sauce.
@danielfm Indeed. They really made Jiraiya look like a true legendary Sannin and Sennin. A true shame such a character had to die to advance the story, but he will never leave our minds as a powerful shinobi who sought to bring peace to a chaotic world.

He died better in the actual anime though. Where he laid there as his lungs slowly filled up with blood, with 6 Chakra rods embedded all the way through his torso, pinning him to the ground. With the screen fading and he closes his eyes one last time. THAT was heartbreaking, especially when his spirit said goodbye to Naruto in the forest and he just knew Jiraiya was gone. Had me all choked up. =S I'm gonna go watch that episode again now.

As you said, a well chosen soundtrack make the experience more intense. About that, the music chosen for Jiraiya's "return to life" in the anime made the scene perfect. @suiton629 I think they didn't show the blood mainly because it's also or mostly a kids' game. There are little kids playing this game as well and they are also fans of Naruto so I'm sure the creators wanted to be clean with it.

The music in this scene made it ten times sadder. I've read the manga, Seen the anime and played this game. Out of all of them I'd say that the game was more sadder and epic.
not being an 18+ game..they couldnt include all the gory scenes from the anime....but tbh...i actually prefer this ending to the 1 in the anime...i mean....going off by taking 1 of em with u with a rasengan is soo much more epic than just killing 1 by drowning in acid =.=.....hats off to the producer of the game for making even the alternate version as much thrilling and heart wrenching ..and yea... this is the 1st time a game made me cry... :'(
If someone could fan-animate the fight following the anime until Jiraiya came back to life, then introducing the Rasengan part of this video(minus censorship) it would be awesome.
This is for everyone who played this game and did this fight. WE helped Jiraiya fight Pain. think about it like when the button cues came up. We pressed the buttons in the right order and Jiraiya did really coll attacks on him. Remember how tired our arms got when we tap the circle button? WE helped Jiraiya finish that Rasengan. Al the other button mashing we did on the button cues were just so we can beat the game. WE fought this battle with Jiraiya. Even though he died you all did a great job
