  • Join me flying from Bristol Airport to Palma de Mallorca to find out my warning flying Ryanair this Summer.
    Also see how busy the airport is, what to expect going through security, and what it's like landing in Terminal A in Palma Airport.
    With reports of queues and flight chaos, find how long it took for us to get through passport control and if it's as bad as reports make out.

      @arthurpewtey 19 วันที่ผ่านมา

      O'Leary will tell you (almost certainly correctly) that Ryanair flights are FULL of people who've sworn they'll never fly Ryanair again.
      I agree the company sucks in many ways (customer service and marketing especially), but they're cheap, usually reliable (albeit a million times worse than useless when they aren't) and rarely lose your luggage. If you want to waste your heard-earned on other airlines, that is - of course - your right. After all, companies like British Airways never lose luggage, arrive late, or whatever, do they?

    Thanks Alex another fab video. As you pointed out people don’t comment on the good flights only the bad ones. So here’s a good review. I flew into Mallorca on Sunday morning with BA from Heathrow. The BA496 07:30 departed at 08:00 due to air traffic delays but we made up time on the flight and arrived at 11.00. Unfortunately we were not on an airbridge so had a short wait for buses. The flight was full but the crew were superb and as I was travelling business class I had a lovely full English breakfast shortly after takeoff. Passage through the airport was busy but delays were at a minimum, even the queue for the passport stamp was marshalled very well and kept moving. We were on a shared luggage belt with a Liverpool flight but the bags came up very quickly and we were out within 15 minutes or so. All in all a very satisfactory, if a little busy, flight and transit through Mallorca airport. I’m now writing this in my favourite resort, Port de Soller, having just enjoyed a pizza at a local restaurant. 🙂🙂🍷.

    Some of the comments on here make me laugh, how can people complain about Ryan air prices.
    They are so damn cheap and if you abide by the baggage rules there is no issue.
    Even if you pre pay for bags they are still cheap to use.
    If people weren’t always trying to sneak on more bags than they are entitled to then Ryan air probably wouldn’t bother to check them.
    A taxi from town to home on a Saturday night will cost you the same as a return flight to Europe, and yet people still moan.
    Some people think everything should be free.

    • @arthurpewtey
      @arthurpewtey 19 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Yes, life really is that simple (usually), isn't it? The comments amuse me too. Everyone hates Ryanair, apparently, yet they remain extremely profitable (unlike most airlines) and their planes are usually full of people - they can't ALL be Ryanair's staff, just there for show, surely?

    The strictness about luggage is a Bristol Airport thing. The gates are enclosed, the baggage size checkers are right as you enter the enclosed area AND they have someone positioned just to catch you as you enter the space. Had the same experience in January but with an Easyjet flight. Yes, the airlines have their rules, but staff at other airports tend to challenge the very obviouse chancers.

    When we were in Alicante in March, Ryanair were fine with baggage. We were in a queue at the boarding gates alongside an Easyjet and their passengers were not happy they were having to pay extra for ill-fitting hand luggage while Ryanair were letting passengers on with their hand luggage no problem, no sizing required. We dislike Easyjet, particularly at Palma, and Paphos where they heard you and push you into lines. Had this a few times with them and we'd only ever use Easyjet as a very last resort. Jet2 first, Ryanair second, any other airline if we can't get a flight for times we need with Jet2 or Ryanair. Used Ryanair regularly for many years, no problems at all, used Easyjet a few times and there's always incidents with them. Plus, Ryanair has the best coffee of all the airlines.

    All Bristol Airport has to do now is to sort out the state of the car parks, bin off the charge to use a luggage trolley and to stop charging an absolute fortune to drop someone off.

Nothing has changed, air stewardess continued to serve alcohol, when asked about the behaviour it appears Ryanair has basically told them to suck it up even if pushed around. Loads of people were intimidated there has to be a health and safety issue but Ryanair don’t care as long as they make money. They won’t make any from me as never ever again will I leave my self open to an experience like that. Never ever am I flying Ryanair, hell can freeze over first.

    Bit of a scaremongering headline this one… Bottom line is really don’t take what hasn’t already been paid for and you won’t need to pay anything extra. Have flown to Mallorca loads with Ryan air, suitcases always slightly underweight, sensible sized backpack to carry on, check in online, no issues. Bit cramped on flight so we always pay for front with extra legroom even so it’s 2 hours not a 9 or 10 hour long haul. Only time we’ve ever been delayed has been caused by other airlines being stuck on gates and not Ryanair’s fault. Have flown with other airlines and it’s not all that different tbf…

    is the lounge open yet? Been closed for quite some time now. Bear in mind that, security side, t's gonna be more expensive hence the lounge is the best way to be able to eat and have some drinks while waiting for the aircraft as it works out cheaper than using the departure shops/restaurants. The bag sizer reminds me why I never fly with Ryanair. it's ok if you got hand luggage that definitely fits. If you're bringing stuff in the hold, Ryanair is more expensive than BA who don't measure your bags and treat you like scum. Thanks for reminding me why I never fly Ryanair, that and their Boeings really puts me off. Think I'd pick sleasyjet if I only had hand luggage. Something else to bear in mind is that Ryan/Easy also really push their timeslots so will usually gain a delay to the plane over time making the later flights more prone to delays. If only BA were at Exeter or Bristol, that would be great
