A passport should be enough or i could just jump on a wee dinghy and run up a beach. Was going to Lanzarote in January have now decided against it, i am neither a criminal or a terrorist. I understand when you say about info i have already given out but as far as i know thats as far as that info goes and i am willing to give that info and for them to site national security, thats a joke.....👍
@MallorcaUnderTheSun unbelievable Alex. I once caught an early morning ferry to France and left my passport at home. Didn't get any problems until I tried leaving calis. Lol.
Hi Alex thanks for update on new travel rules. Will folks have to queue outside hotels in hot sun or rain if reception lobbies are backed up or will inside shelter be provided whilst you await check in? ❤️🐸🐸🐸🐸🐸🐸
Alex , yes Lucy said this extra required info has been withdrawn, due to pressure from the hotels, and the Spanish government have backed down . Others have said the same, so you do need to check your information
I am checking my information. The platform exists and information has to be provided and it’s obligatory that it’ll this is uploaded . Please read the press release from the hotels federation. This is going to affect the hotel industry and have an impact m. It’s likely they will have to say how the hotel was booked . They are not asking for bank info - bank account details but they are asking for data!!!!
@@JimWilkinson-el2hp When you go to the supermarket, do you hand over your bank account details or do you pay with say a card. As I said, from what I understand, they may be required to show how the car/hotel was paid for.
I'm thinking of going to Alcudia mid January to do some cycling. Will there be many cycle friendly hotels open then? What is the best way to travel from the airport to Alcudia with a bike box ? I had a quick look on line and it looked like there weren't too many hotels open 😢
We have been coming to majorca and ibiza since the early 1980s many times but its now getting a bit silly, more complicated at airports now all this extra check in info and next year once the entry exit stuff comes in even worse, maybe youngsters can cope with it all but as you get older it does seem too much to go through i honestly think people will now be put off visiting spain and will head to other destinations which is a pity because spain is such a lovely country.
An airline having your information is totally different to a foreign government having it ,, the hotel your staying already info about you why isn’t that enough? ,, what if you book a all inclusive hotel and then don’t take a bank card with you ,, just a bit of cash what if you have booked your elderly grandparents a holiday and they don’t have emails cause there old and don’t use them ,, this will have a massive effect on brits travelling to Spain and the rest of Europe,, it Europe who will suffer when brits decide to go and spend there hard earned money in other parts of the world or stay at home , also Spain isn’t a cheap holiday anymore,, I can have ten days in Dubai cheaper than 10 days in palma nova ,,
Re booking a holiday for your parents - then provide the email on that booking . You can only give the info you have . Re bank card - well that got booked somehow so I guess that’s what’s provided . 🤷🏻♀️
It hasn't been binned. They are asking for pretty much the same information on the platform. But they will be obliged to do it and upload it to the system.
@@robinmccully8784they haven’t backed down. She didn’t say that either. Hoteliers are now obliged to provide guests information to this platform. Before it’s wasn’t obligatory. We’ve both said you shouldn’t notice that much difference as it was in most cases being collected before. So I’m asking holiday makers to let me know their experience .
Thanks for the update, Alex. Could we run a wee festive sweepstake on when the first hack of this new data will occur? Even now, Russia and China plus the crimminal fraternity are on the case...
I said I believe the hotel may have to provide how your hotel/car was booked. You don't have to provide bank information. I didn't make this crystal clear and there has been no evidence of anyone being asked for their bank accounts.
Great information Alex. Many thanks. I've two holidays booked to Mallorca and the changes have not put me off. Its 3c here so you are much warmer in Mallorca. Best wishes, John
Great informative video Alex especially about data collection.
Cheers Caroline!
Thanks for the update 🤙 Regards Alex
Gracias Ricky !

Thanks Joseph!
That’s killed it Alex 🇪🇸
Such a great informative video Alex. Thank you for keeping us updated. ❤
thanks Amanda!
I might have to get myself a passport next time I travel to spain ,Alex. Crazy 😂.
😂 tbh most places are collecting data now. And this has been going on for a while

Once again a very informative stream Alex thanks for the update.

The Spanish gov haven’t backed down and they haven’t had a conversation or consulted with the hotel federation .
What is bank data if not your account number

I would try the Hotel Panorama in Puerto Pollensa - this is a popular biking hotel . Call a private transfer co too to transport your bike.

I think all the hassle will definitely put elderly travellers off travelling. Let's see though how it impacts next Summer...
Does this also apply to people who book through travel agents? I've just paid off my holiday just waiting now.
When you check into your hotel you’ll have to provide name, address and ID as normal. They will have your booking and see it’s been paid for at the TA
Just get a Dinghy Boat from Africa and claim you have no ID.
Is this for everyone or just UK holiday makers
I cover this in the video!!
Does it apply to domestic bookings i.e. Spanish residents?
OK sorry I just heard you say it includes Spanish residents, be interested to hear how do they feel about that?

Alex you need to confirm what your saying , as well as Lucy, other saying the Spanish government have backed down

Newquay Cornwall Devon.... are going to be laughing their socks off next summer ££££
Not if Spain has the sun! Incidentally hotels over there will also need ID too - it’s normal.
Can you please itemise all the new questions when checking in rather than a guess of the questions
I don't get what you mean
No more majorca for me 😢
Can you refuse
You have always had to provide ID checking in to a hotel. Infact you won't be allowed to check in without a passport/ID card.
@MallorcaUnderTheSun I'm talking about all the new information
Thanks for the update, Alex. Could we run a wee festive sweepstake on when the first hack of this new data will occur? Even now, Russia and China plus the crimminal fraternity are on the case...
Or... just to add to the sweepstake - a 12 year old wizz kid ;)
Can I ask if you yourself have a problem with giving your bank details over.

3 degrees 🥶 wow that’s cold !
When i saw this title i thought you were referring to first ever Big Brother UK winner Craig Phillips who has just moved there lol
