Voyagers of the Jump is an original adventure using the 2022 2nd Edition Update to the Traveller RPG rules set by Mongoose Publishing.
First published in 1977, Traveller is a science fiction RPG in the vein of The Expanse or Battlestar Galactica. Most who played the original game back in the day remember the robust character creation system where if you push too far and get unlucky with the dice, you can die before you even start playing.

Personally, I blame the cat for everything that happened.
I'm assuming that the cat is going to be the only unharmed being on the ship.
As the great Solamani poet Alanis Morrisette once said, “You live, you Plrrrn….”
The cat CAUSED the mis jump by knocking a cup of liquid into a computer panel. 100%, lol.
**SHAKES FIST IN THE AIR** DAMN, YOU SCRAPS!!!
"So which feline deity do you gentle beings offend this time around?"
When Skid started telling his ghost story, you could already see Seth trying to hold in a laugh. 😄
This crew has such a collective eclectic, eccentric sense of humour. Love it
Scrap is the only crew member undefeated in sparring with Pug
"your Hobby and your job should never mix" says a man who writes and games for a living. Nice Seth :-P
Sydney: describing all the ways this particular cat is a demonic troublemaker.
Me: So, it's basically a typical cat.
I found you guys through your first collaboration with Seth, so while I'm now a big fan of your other series too, I really love watching you guys together again
Best actual play channel on the internet. Their games are entertaining but they're still always actually playing the game, not merely putting on a performance.
First thought when she said she has a cat, "Jonesy..." LOL
i do love that Seth is Skids biggest fan and Vice versa whenever they monologue
Man I love everything the Glass Cannon does. They have the Midas touch.
They’re smart & funny, and have good taste in guests 🏆
This is an awesome new set of characters! So glad you guys made a season 2 for Traveller. Seth and Glass Cannon are the reason I started playing Mongoose 2E.
Ok, the Alicia story about kidnapping was hilarious and this crew is awesome.
It made my day. 😆
Skid's party idea made me think of The Restaurant at the End of the Universe
Please tell me at some point in the adventure there will be a Scott Brown Real Estate Agency crossover.
This series and Haunted City are top tier Actual Plays. They are what keeps me engaged with GCN.
Don't miss out on Get in the Trunk either! It's thrilling every week.
@@Alchemagician I'm sure it's great but I just don't get the setting/premise of that game. I've tried a few times to get into it but there is something about it that game that rubs me the wrong way. It's fine not everything is to everyone's taste.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY SKID! You're the best!
Wooo!! Hudson Hawk Reference!! Love that movie!
Man, Matthew always bring the awesome twists in his stories, BRAVO!
Sydney delivered on a good ghost story
Karl Urban is doing a great job in this series so far.
Alicia's kidnapping tale had me literally crying with laughter, this show is comedy gold 😂
This second series is, again, just. So. Good.
Loving it.
Thanks! Glad you are enjoying it!
Another compelling session with genuinely unpredictable plot twists 👏✌👍
Two predictions I am going to make:
1) The pleasant, habitable, world that the Warbler has crashed upon is actually in Jump space (or some alternate dimension), rather than being a case of a massive misjump into normal-stellar-density-populated space. 🤓
2) The other-dimensional being encountered/revealed at the last episode of season 1 is going to make an appearance in this season as well. If my first prediction is correct, this appearance is going to happen in one or two episodes time, rather than much later 🤓
They are traveling - looking forward to seeing this in 47 hrs…
Skid's story was truly terrifying. Please write a horror story or something. Bone-chilling.
It's in your house! 😮 Where are your keys?
What a great cinematic transition from character creation to the start of the campaign. Well done Matthew, well done. Can't wait to see where this goes. My week is slowly filling up with GCN shows 😆
Yay, someone else loves Hudson Hawk
Arthur: "one thing I'm good at... fixin' thangs..."
I love what each player brings to the table. They've really brought an amazing cast of characters. Also, I love to hear some love for "Hudson Hawk." I have always loved that movie. It's just so goofy.
Now the question that is on everyone’s mind is,” Did the Varger’s snack stash get blown out of the cargo hold?”
Fantastic episode, as always! I love how much fun the cast clearly has. Matthew as a DM is so good at hooking my attention and keeping it there - I swear each episode is like the blink of an eye because of how well he keeps the pacing of pre-game chatting and the game itself.
Every time you say the name of the station it reminds me of Fabio in Bubble Boy " Those who reject him will mutate and burn eternally on Planet PX41, and Planet PX42 if they run out of room. Now, if there are no further questions,"
Stay on target, Skid. Stay on target!
Thanks for making an actual play, guys, Traveller was missing that badly. I've enjoyed the first season, and this new one starts awesomely! I've been playing in my own universe so far, but now I'm very tempted to explore Charted Space. 😅 Have fun!
I travel really light (carry on small backpack)... mostly because I really don't want airports mismanaging my luggage or losing it.
Aw man, had my days mixed up. Cmon tomorrow!!!!
Such a tease lol I don't wanna wait! ❤
1:31:00 man, this could be a really short season. Like the skill chaining.
I can see it now, they find Scraps in engineering, teeth locked on a power cable to the jump emgines that have been chewed through.
I imagine the crash would be like the opening shots from ''Pitch Black'' (2000)
I love this show. I love this whole group. Y’all are awesome.
Thanks!
Fantastic! I am loving the new crew.
I love Skid's gifs.
The B'waps were inspired by the Alexei Panshin's Anothy Villers series book 2, The Thurb Revolution. There is an amphibious bureaucrat that was the direct inspiration. Fabulous book!
Yeah, I'm hooked. I mean, I already was, but this ep was great guns. I appreciate the slow burn of the first few to set up the location, chars and mindset really well, then we get our beloved characters thrown i to a space blender!
Well!
Looking forward to catching up, then restarting from s1e1 haha. Everyone in this show is a solid skill-chain and works great together.
I'm a very light packer. I used to just take a hiking backpack on Phish tour in the 90s. But I do fly now for tour.
Love the first Voyage! So happy for a second season! I want to hang with all 5 of you! You guys are such fun 😃
Great episode, I'm loving this new season. Everyone is killing it.
You may give Sydney a hard time for her faux pas on her trip to Sweden, but it speaks volumes about her character that she still made it and refused to quit. On a different note...when are the PCs going to use auto fire and burst fire? Burst Fire can be added to an attack to increase effect/damage by the Auto X rating. Also whoever has the Gauss Rifle doesn't seem to be using armor penetration (AP). I have listened to the podcasts for the last two seasons and you guys make my sides split.
Alicia went to the Princess Vespa school of travel
On the edge of my seat the whole time!
Hey Arthur, I think native Vargr call it a faux paw!
*smacks your nose with a rolled-up newspaper* Bad pun! Baad!
passport: "Improvise, Adapt, Overcome"
Next week's theme song is "Girlfriend in a Coma" by The Smiths.
I had a very similar experience to Syd with my passport, totally fucked up and didnt realize it was expired a week before a huge trip to Spain and Germany for my best friend's wedding. Luckily it was pre covid, i used a third party passport service, paid 500 bucks, and got an updated passport in 2 days the weekend before the flight.
Another fun episode .....cheers to you all...
Thanks!
Well, better to have misjumped to a planet than to parsecs of empty space.
Pug was good at holding the flashlight.
The Captain reminds me of Captain Haddock from the Advrntures of Tintin.
I found a site where they did the math to convert Traveller tons to ship tons. At 8000 tons the Warbler compares in size to the Titanic.
I'm pretty sure they said the Warbler was 4000 dTons, which is about the size of the US Navy's Zumwalt class destroyers.
RMS Titanic was 46,329 GRT which converts to about 9700 dTons.
😀
Don't know, but I guess an uncharted rogue planet (one wandering free, not orbiting a star) and its gravity field is what forced them out of jumpspace.
Yeeeea - Time for more GCN awesomeness 🥰 Im all caught up on episodes, so now I have to wait for the new ones - Boo 🥰
But GCN is ALWAYS worth the wait 😇 GCN is simply a stellar group, players, and storytellers 🥰 Woo-hoo Chaos pet🤣
This episode sounds like the crash landing scene from Pitch Black.
Scrap needs a cat carrier with a heavy padlock.
I once had an evil cat mastermind. Group was investigating a cult and i guess I put too much emphasis on the cat. It had a clue dangling from its collar is all. Party became conviced the cat was evil and at fault somehow. BBEG was a standard demon, wound up stealing the devil from the movie Fallen so the cat could be evil. Mostly squishy party thought it was great fun until the lone barbarian of the group got possessed.
'Fallen' is a great movie! I'd love to use Azazel in a Pulp or Call of Cthulhu game - switch out the biblical for the Lovecraftian and he'd fit right in. He comes across a bit sassy and Nyarlatnotep-ish to me...
I do like the character creation system in this but is it as fun to play as make characters for? And what is a good starting adventure if youre new to the system and have 2 players to GM for?
Habe played and refereed traveller a good bit. It is as fun as rolling characters, absolutely. The style is very much like space nomads, so a lot more episodic in nature. Watch Firefly and you have a good starting point.what it feels like
Seth has reviewed some Traveller adventures. I would recommend watching those and pick one you think will work best for you and your group.
Uh oh, is this gonna be a "Lost in Space" situation?
as I remember it for flying in atmosphere. streamlined no negative modifiers. if its Standard (or partial-streamlined) its a negative modifier to pilot checks. though cant recall how much.
if its worse than that. its basically a "forget it".
found it! page 152
A streamlined ship is designed to enter a planetary atmosphere and can function like a conventional aircraft. Pilot checks are required in high winds and other extreme weather. Partial streamlining allows a ship to skim gas giants and enter Atmosphere codes of 3 or less, acting in the same way as streamlined ships. In other atmospheres, the ship will be ponderous and unresponsive, reliant on its thrusters to keep it aloft. All Pilot checks will be made with DM-2.
An unstreamlined ship is completely non-aerodynamic and if it enters an atmosphere it runs the risk of sustaining serious damage. Such a ship must make a Pilot check at DM-4 when it enters an atmosphere and for every minute of flight. Each failed check inflicts 1D damage to the ship, ignoring any Armour
Wait... Did this just end as the beginning of Pitch Black? Is there other passengers on this ship in cryo? Did they just inadvertently release a death machine on his way back to the slam? Tune in next week for the next exciting adventure of the crew from the Warbler!
Have Glass Cannon, or would they, come to the UK for a live?
Nice 👍
road to 50k subscribers is almost done!
armANDlegadillo!
PSY 6? Luxury. I have one player with 5 and another with 2.
If "someone" really wanted their imaginary character to have an imaginary pet, the Walston is perfect! They were featured in high 'n dry as I'm sure Matthew would know 😉
They're literally a cute guinea pig, but unlike the real life ones on earth, Walstons have a tail. They are a very popular pet for many Walstonians (but not Wesleyans lolol)
On a side note, the antics of which "that person" is trying to go about it is the biggest sign not to play with them ☕
Any chance you can put character names in brackets at the end of player names? Also, the Nostromo was 63,000 metric tonnes :p
yeah I caught that too. Love the series but I don't think they realize how big 4000 tons is - just look at ocean going ships. 4000 DWT would be about the average size of a WW2 light cruiser. Still quite big but certainly nothing close to the Nostromo. And if its GRT then it will be quite small
Clearly Pug's metabolism does not like alcohol.
2 days!
Alicia looks really good in glasses btw
I also noticed sydney is the only one not wearing glasses.
Can't we get her some fake hipster glasses to fit in? Lol

Btw, Leadership no longer gives boons and banes in the 2022 rules
I'm rather liking this group of characters but does anyone know why they didn't continue with the characters from season one?
I don't know. But I would guess that it's because character generation is fun. And it means each season can stand on its own - you don't need to do homework to understand what's going on.
I feel like the way task chains work in the rules is really unsatisfying and unnecessarily punnishing. I like the concept, but I'd definitely want to modify it in some way. Because the thought of using a task chain, as is, just fills me with dread.
I don't know, I feel like my first thought when someone says "Hey, I'll give you a hand with that" shouldn't be "Oh god no, get away from me, we're all going to die if you do that."
I only give a -1 on snake-eyes or less, 3-7 +0, 8-11 +1, +2 for boxcars +; this lets people help effectively but still allows for dicey hijinks now and then...
@@Panicagq2 Yeah, that sounds much more fun to me. I don't mind terrible rolls giving a negative, but the RAW giving up to a -3 is too much for me.
I was personally thinking of changing it to a range of -2 to +3, but I might go with your version instead.
Riddik!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Pug's baby video: th-cam.com/video/KX7L89z3WzA/w-d-xo.htmlfeature=shared
😅
Faux-....Paws!
This was another really fun episode, but I'm pretty sure the task chaining mechanic is broken. It seems to make far more sense not to help at all, given how punishing a failure is.
For real, a single bad roll ruins the entire chain. The positives are outweighed by the negatives
Yeah...I only give a -1 on snake-eyes or less, 3-7 +0, 8-11 +1, +2 for boxcars +; this lets people help effectively but still allows for dicey hijinks now and then...
Cracked me up that Alicia worked that kidnapping in there.
