I haven't seen many videos on this and I dreaded my 1st one. It isn't hard after you do it once. look around on youtube or see if you the fan kit you want has DETAILED instructions.
Just picked up one of these. Box is exactly the same (-8). I have high expectations as i live in FL and trans temps can get a bit high if i drive the car around during rush hour. During summer 2-3 hour traffic jams it can reach 212 😱. Driving around in the summer its at around 192-202. Winter it gets up to 180-188. If temps can stay at 180 and below all year round ill be very happy.
I have been running derale cooler about a year. Mounted under 72 Chevelle similar to your application. The only negative is it pulls hot air from exhaust under vehicle . Therefore I had to wrap exhaust to keep temperature down. Otherwise not much complaint. Temperature switch does let fluid by but it's like 1 drop a week.
My worry is if I install a team cooler in the same spot or similar on a tahoe and I go through mud or sand or whatever is the fan going to be affected or would it be better to throw it behind the grill
Do you believe the system is strong enough for a primary set up with an 4l60 with a cam lq9 with regular driving out of town. 10hr plus drive times. Or should I run it through the radiator also?
I have an old import with a 4-speed AT (Aisin A140E). Does Fat Fender Garage advocate a cooler with these? After my researches, I am thinking it is unnecessary and would not improve transmission life. Your opinion?
on Amazon, go to the Darale store. They have all that stuff there. I had the same question and saw yours was not answered. www.amazon.com/stores/node/3024104011?_encoding=UTF8&field-lbr_brands_browse-bin=Derale&ref_=bl_dp_s_web_3024104011
Now a video on the wiring in the fan with a relay and the thermo switch would be very helpful for the novice hot rod enthusiast people at home

Thanks for the quick look. Going to install on my 68 Bronco with 4r70w conversion. Temp sensor is the idea I was looking for.

It's the fan water proof ?
I heard that coolers fittings have to be standing up ?
How do I find/get 1 of those temperature relays?

bollweevil7_3 you can install the fan up against the bed, cab floor etc. or even a small shield.
Is that one fit the Toyota FJ Cruiser?
Great videos, where did you jump the frame to get outside away from exhaust?

Can one use this on Nissan pathfinder 2006 ?

Very good info, thank you!
@Fat Fender Garage What’s the part number? Need one for my 69 C10. Running an LS3 with a 4L80e. Thanks.
Yeah that would definitely be something you think you would add to an informative video.
Where do you get the thermostat sensor?

Those connectors look vulnerable to road salt contamination and corrosion.
what booth are u in sema?
Just saw this.. Well we were at the Accuair outside corral, hopefully you found us 😅
Really DON'T like mounting those UNDER a vehicle, right there for what you may hit in the road
Bad location for a ELECTRIC fan, wire leads with open ended (exposed) terminals connectors need to be sealed
Well dam my cooler is connected to my radiator
Derales tube and fin style coolers are trash in my opinion
