The top pipe is not aligned up properly. It is at different angle to the bottom one, plus the top one protrudes further out. Sound wise you are never going to much of a change, if any, just by changing the tips. It's more to do with the aesthetics of the exhaust. To make changes you will need to remove the CAT, or put on the Akro performance exhaust for this bike. Personally, I think it looks better as standard as everything lines up properly with the factory exhaust.
That would be the cat restricting the noise regardless of what end can you use there would at most be a increase of 10-20 dbs if that, if you get a full system without a cat you'll hear and feel a difference to the bike significantly.

Your welcome. You can leave in the baffles to tone down the sound.
You might want to try opening the exhaust flap and tying it then.. servo buddy or a mechanical stop on the cable

Not really. The exhaust tone did change a bit, more bass to it but not that much louder.
