    Nice video. I picked up a 2013 RXT260 with 45hrs at the beginning of summer. Had the supercharger immediately rebuilt, put a new carbon ring and top hat on as well as new wear ring. These motors seem quite good.

    I'm approaching 900 hours on my 2008 gtx 155. Thanks for these videos. They are lowering the amount of nightmares I've been having 😅
    Edit: that inside hull looks amazing, well done!

      Thanks, Devon. From what I've been hearing, these engines can go over 2,000 hours. Good luck to you!

    Awesome content as always...... here's an idea.....how about a video/fix/replacement? for 2002 to 2005 gauges. We have these great units that will run over 1000 hours (mine only has 300) but sets off an alarm every 10-15 minutes because the "no longer available" gauges are dead and can't communicate.... I've had mine repaired twice only to last two months at best...... Can you figure them out?

    • @3ftDeepChannel
      @3ftDeepChannel  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yikes, that’s a tough one. We replace them before, but never tried to repair the circuit board. That can be very tricky, as the components can continue to fail over time. I generally consider the life of a circuit board to be10 to 15 years …and then all bets are off. Hopefully you can find a good used one with a little more life on it, but I wouldn’t pay much for it. Good luck!

    I missed it or you didn't say. How much engine oil does it take to fill after a rebuild. ( imp gal, us gal, or liters) I always wonder how much dirty oil is left after a vacuum oil change. Great videos.
    thanks for the insight. Malcolm

      Bone dry capacity is about 3.5 litres. You should put about 2.75 litres in and then slowly add more using the proper procedure (see winterization video) until it's reading the proper level on the dipstick.

    I have an oil leak on two outside cylinders of 2013 gti 155. Someone said it is probably the valve cover but I’m wondering now if it is probably the same seals you mentioned in this video. Rental customer sunk it and after a boil down procedure it had these oil leaks which caused it not to start. I was going to order parts this week and tear into it next week.

    • @3ftDeepChannel
      @3ftDeepChannel  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s definitely worth checking out the tube seals as the source of your problem. These fail very often. Good luck.

    Great videos on this rebuild - It makes me feel good knowing my 2021 GTI 130 SE is going to serve me well. My salesman told me these things are almost bulletproof & with normal maintenance will last pretty much forever. What are your plans for this GTI once you are all finished?

    • @3ftDeepChannel
      @3ftDeepChannel  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If you maintain your machine well, it appears that expecting it to last 2,000 hours is not unreasonable. As for this machine, we ended up selling it. We just bought it for this project. Thanks for your comment.

    • @cap2c484
      @cap2c484 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@3ftDeepChannel Do you think that hour count expectation is applicable to a 2006 GTI or GTX? I have one of each. They each have about 150 hours each and run perfectly. I have been wondering if I need to replace the valves as well but they are both naturally aspirated.

    • @3ftDeepChannel
      @3ftDeepChannel  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If your GTX machine is supercharged and has not had the supercharger rebuilt yet, I would make sure that is done immediately (before starting your engine again). Other than that, I don’t see why your machines couldn’t last one or two thousand hours if they are properly maintained. Good luck!

    • @cap2c484
      @cap2c484 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@3ftDeepChannel Thanks, it's not supercharged, but I heard that there were issues with the exhaust valves on machines in the '04-'06 era. Wasn't sure if the valve failures were pretty much only happening on the SC machines.

    200 to 185 psi seems a little large of a spread not afraid it might not need a little more love there?

    • @3ftDeepChannel
      @3ftDeepChannel  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, as we have new piston rings and we honed the cylinders, it will take a little bit before they get seated and the compression goes up. Pretty normal. Thanks for your comment.

      Perfect. Just enough power for beginners, and very reliable. Relatively simple to work on, too. All three manufacturers make very reliable machines, but we prefer Sea-Doos. Happy riding.

    hello, I changed the segments on rxp 215 I have 8.5 bar on cylinder 1 and 2 but on cylinder 3 I have 0. what can it be from? camshaft? valve ?

    • @3ftDeepChannel
      @3ftDeepChannel  ปีที่แล้ว

      Could be a stuck or dropped valve, damaged ring, etc. If I were you I’d invest on an endoscope and look inside the cylinder to see what’s happening. Good luck.

    • @pilote630
      @pilote630 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@3ftDeepChannel I didn't understand. it can come from the piston rings or rather from the valves. the cylinder head is currently disassembled
      for information the valves have not fallen and not broken. the piston rings are new

    • @3ftDeepChannel
      @3ftDeepChannel  ปีที่แล้ว

      If the cylinder head is already disassembled, you don’t need an endoscope. If the rings are new and you confirm they’re in good shape and have been assembled properly, I’d check the seating of the valves to make sure they creat a proper seal when closed.

    • @pilote630
      @pilote630 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@3ftDeepChannel I'm thinking maybe the head gasket or actually the valve seats. I can't find the spare parts (valve seat) the seats have to be machined and the rings replaced
      Should the valve seats be corrected or replaced?

    • @3ftDeepChannel
      @3ftDeepChannel  ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question. I suggest taking it to a machine shop and asking them. We don't do that kind of work ourselves.

    What causes the carbon seal to fail on the new units?

    • @3ftDeepChannel
      @3ftDeepChannel  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Probably the most common issue would be running it for too long out of the water. That will cause the carbon seal to overheat.
