I flew them in Texas and Arizona and the T38B at Holloman in New Mexico. In Air Training Command and Tactical Air Command, the jets were immaculate. Our crew chiefs kept them in pristine condition. Our never flew a jet that was dirty in any way unless we landed in bad weather and got the jet dirty, then the crew chiefs took them right to the wash rack and cleaned them. Inside and outside they were almost spotless. It was a beautiful little jet to fly, very reliable and fast. Not easy to fly but once you got used to the control touch, it was great. You had to stay well ahead of the jet to fly it, but it challenged the students and kept them on their toes. I cherish my time in “the white rocket”!

Beautiful! My Dad was an F-16 pilot and trained on these. I'd like to build this at some point and give to him along with an f-16. Thanks for the tips!

That airplane was at one time a USAF Thuderbird. It went to Edwards with the smoke system still in the airplane. From 1987 to 1989, it was my airplane.

Beautiful, I have build the same one but decided not to do the weathering because to my opinion, they kept the T-38’s in a very clean condition.

Very nice kit! But wait, no Hollman AFB (HO) tail codes?! I used to see glossy black Talons all the time when I was stationed out there, I'm unfamiliar with the WM tail code.

I built one of these two years ago. Painting it in the gloss black color. Last year I attempted to build another with the intention of doing it in the White Color. However it went south on me so I ended up abandoning the whole thing. Trashed it. Today I ordered another one online it should be here in a couple of weeks. I am going to reattempt to build it in the cold white. version. Hopefully it will work out right. I was very happy with the first one. So maybe I won't screw up my third attempt b

@@doctormig2709 if you do dont be fooled as its NOT a T-38 at all but an F-5B.....in fact its a rebox /reissue of the old Matchbox kit...for example the only cockpit interior are 2 seats and 2 pilots just like matchbox...doesnt even have a cockpit tub...

I am I the process of trying to finish those model the canopy gave me some issues. GGGRRR so that area did not come out looking the best. But not really noticeable unless you look really close

Hello Why, after giving black as prime you have given gray prime, instead of a normal gray like?

Because I don't like the grey primer.I always spray the black primer first.And because I wanted to get a bit faded white color I used the grey primer as preshading color for it.In real life you can see the modulation on the model.

I use Mr.Surfacer and dilute it with Nitro thinner
