With such a dirty amp any overdrive pedal almost sounds the same. Use it DI or into a clean amp. Very smooth and then the clean blend really makes sense. Very good for delicate coloring of your clean blues tone.
No this is what it's actually all about :) Try one in with different amps and gain settings and you'll see that you'll want different amounts of clean from the pedal for all different gain settings on your amp.
@@HarleyBentonOfficial If you read my post, you would see that I am talking about a clean tone with just a little coloring. I don't give a scheisse about gain. That's for metal heads. More gain = less dynamic = less expression. So a dirty amp is a no-no!! Isn't it a little lazy copy pasting your answers? In my case, you were far off.

Hi Bene! I an still looking for "my" OD Pedal to create an AC/DCish sound in combination with my little solid state amp. (Crate GX-15R) Is the Vintage Overdrive enough for that or maybe the British True Tone or should I buy the OD5? To the other guys here: No, I don't want to buy a "real" amp and I also don't want a Marshall in a box. My cheap Epiphone LP Special is allready quite close to Angus with just the build in OD of the crate. Regards, Thomas.
@@olafhermans1248 thanks for the reply. I allready got an HB DynFX Git and a new Amp since my post. The new Amp is because my Crate broke down in the meantime and because I did want a bigger one for some time. So it's a top now. Still solid state but with 200 Watts of power. But to say long things short: when I connect the DynFX with a clean preset to the amps FX Loop, setting the clean level to max and the DynFX master to max it's more AC/DCish then I ever dreamed. By the way: new Amp is a B-52 LG-200AS for only 150€s, which has a nice 2part distortion channel and an even better clean channel. Stereo chorus (amp has a 2x100W stereo mode too) and reverb. All switchable with included 4x footswitch. Hell of an amp. Cheers
That magic "clean" is just the amount of your dry signal - of course in gain pedals your dry signal is more "clean". When clean is in 100%, turning tone or gain do nothing, as expected. It's thou very interesting and useful feature that you rarely see in gain pedals, but can be misleadingly named.

This seems perfect for metal bass tones!!
Hey Benedikt, I fell in Love with the dirty sound even without the pedal! Is it just the Origin50 who makes it that nice?
Hi, thanks so much Felix! Yes indeed that's just the Marshall and our G212 Vintage Vertical! Great little combo!
Sounds good, but kind of pointless demoing it this way. The 'clean' pass knob is pointless going into an already crunching amp! (Well almost anyway!)

@@HarleyBentonOfficial I see! Danke!
No Problem, it's really interesting and more you noticeable while you're actually playing that pedal. It becomes more saggy and compressed.
@@HarleyBentonOfficial Yes, it would. I do not like too much compressing of the sound! It takes the life out of it!
Danke, Harley Benton!

What is the circuit it's based on?
