It's actually a miracle this footage ever surfaced. Mike Lastra who made this film NW Passage stumbled on to it by chance when he was interviewing someone for the film and they said a neighbor some old footage he took of bands from back then. The neighbor gave it to Mike and it was pretty rough. After spending much time cleaning it up this is what came out. Sage never wanted any live footage done and wasn't real happy then about this surfacing.

Sage is a brilliant musician but I really hate how restrictive he is with his legacy. His sheer stubborn dedication to indie ethics and doing things 100% his way is admirable but I feel like his attitude towards his legacy borders on shooting himself in the foot

Thank you for stating it clearly. It's actually more like the Wipers have grown over the years in spite of him.
And I write this as a total fan; they are one of my favorite bands ever, I've been a fan since Over The Edge came out.

When I lived in Portland, OR(2009-2012), there was literally a Greg Sage "Shoppe". It literally sold all(and only) things Greg Sage/Wipers.

It's not the truth I seek
    It's just a mockery
Don't need to waste my time
    You know I've really tried
    You take and never give
It get's so hard to live
    I'm hangin on a ledge
    Pushed straight over the edge
Don't do the thing's you do
    Don't have to oblige you
    Makin choises on my own
Dont buy their trite, and drone
Grow up and be a man

    I hangin on a ledge
    Pushed straight over the edge

What a masterpiece. It's 5.20+ am and i'm listening to it and havin' fun. I even learned this song on the similar SG as Greg used it on this live. What else to say. Havin' attacks while you're in the capial of you know the name of the country, too much had being said, so i myself do despise mentioning it, but anyway, life is great, and i'm lucky to have the chance to enjoy the Wipers. That should mean something. I wish i was on that gig, but how could i. Thanks to Greg, i hope that he'd someday play the show as he did on this record. Air aid signals now, and i don't even care about them as i'm living over the edge)
