For me Wipers are the most important Band of the 80s. First I listened to them while hitchhiking in 1985 and I was so deeply impressed as never before by a band. Thanks to Greg Sage for this nearly unbelievable rock experience over years. Kick ass for all time! 🔥

he is a nice guy. very private. very much into his own thing. i interviewed him for about 6 hours when i was in high school and he told me all kinds of interesting things. hipped me to other old portland punk bands and people. strangely, years later i wound up in a band with Mish from SadoNation and we covered some wipers tunes...

Sounds like you love him a little bit.... and you want to marry him. That's what it sounds like. That you want to be his lover and make little wiper babies.
You should just marry him if you love him so much!!!!!!!!!!

I thank god every day for the internet so I can witness actual music. OH god its so blissful .. this day in age where my fruits are spoiling and my hate grows as love.. Its like this everywhere...this empty/full contradiction that sadness gives. Makes you want to shout your vibes out to whoever is listening and make a movement.
    But nothing moves...

I have become obsessed with this band. I love how the Wipers connect Hendrix to grunge in a dreamy super powerful way.

ALL their albums are terrific. I really mean it. I've written about Over the Edge and the great song Romeo on it. I was just reading about the Wipers on another site and their album Follow Blind seemed to get very little respect. It is their most jazzy, spacey album. If you want something other than hard charging garage rock, or however you want to characterize their signature sound, I highly recommend it.

Yeah, if you like electronic music and hip hop. or combinations of them. they say that hip hop is the 'new' folk music but I just can't seem to speak or understand its refracted language and nonsense lingo. these artists have nothing new to say which hasn't already been said more eloquently and with more wit in early blues recordings.

The only band in my opinion in the 1990's that could blow nirvana out the water. Yes nirvana was mainstream in 92 and more people would choose that but if I'm taking a time capsule and wanted to see gritty raw rock show wipers would be my bet. Them or dinosaur jr. Nirvana is my favorite band but I'm not blind, wipers were "IT".
