Lionel Messi named 'icon' of Royal Caribbean's new ship Icon Of Seas

His latest venture involves being the official Icon of the Seas, Royal Caribbean's groundbreaking new ship set to launch in January 2024.
Messi's association with Royal Caribbean follows the cruise line's partnership with Inter Miami CF, where they became the Club’s Main Partner and Official Vacation Partner. This collaboration, driven by shared values of leadership and delivering unforgettable moments, will culminate in the celebration of Icon's arrival, with Messi playing a pivotal role.
In a statement, Messi expressed his excitement, stating, "I'm thrilled and honored to join the Royal Caribbean family to celebrate the arrival of the game-changing Icon of the Seas. Icon is beyond anything else that's out there for family vacations, with incredible never-before-seen features, all designed for making memories together."
Michael Bayley, the president and CEO of Royal Caribbean International, emphasized that Icon of the Seas represents over 50 years of delivering memorable vacations and is poised to redefine the industry when it launches in January 2024. He praised Messi as the embodiment of the Icon, citing his ability to make a widespread impact and change the status quo, evident not only in sports but also in introducing a new era of excitement and passion for fútbol in Miami and the U.S.
As part of maritime tradition, Messi will participate in the iconic naming celebration for Icon in January 2024 in Miami. This event holds significance as Messi will bestow safekeeping onto the new ship, its crew, and the millions of families expected to create lasting memories on board.
Icon of the Seas promises an all-encompassing vacation experience with its eight neighborhoods, each a destination in itself, offering a variety of experiences, live entertainment, restaurants, bars, and more. The ship will embark on 7-night Eastern or Western Caribbean adventures from Miami, showcasing picturesque locales and a day of thrill and relaxation at Royal Caribbean's private island, Perfect Day at CocoCay in The Bahamas. Notably, the island will unveil its first adults-only oasis, Hideaway Beach, in January 2024, featuring a private beach, pools, cabanas, live music, and more, further enhancing the perfect vacation experience.
