We love the Liki trike. We have the midnight version… we’ve had it for 7 months, buuuut we have some issues with my toddler… bought it at 18 months and now he’s 25. My toddler gets himself unstrapped and tries to get out. When out in stores/zoo/museums it’s easier for us to take a stroller to keep him in. Also, he pulls his feet off the foot rest even if we tightened the Velcro straps and drags his feet while we push him. While out it became a hassle stopping and getting his feet back into the foot rest and strapped up just for bike to pull them out 5min later. We even tried doing the pedal pushing version to encourage him to keep his feet strapped and that didn’t work either. Now we just use the liki trike for walks when we don’t have to worry about getting in the way of people to readjust straps/foot rest/pedals etc. 😅 I know it’ll be different for all kids as mine is just wild.
Hey, what do you use for travel purposes like for malls or airports? Mine LO is 20 months old & he didn’t sit in the stroller anymore. He wants to touch everything & walk freely outside. I’m so worried to handle him at such public places.
@@fatimamalik4960My LO luckily still stays put in a stroller, so at malls I’m still able to use the stroller. He’s gotten better at staying put in the Liki trike, so we use that sometimes too… but typically we just stick to the stroller in case he naps, I can recline him to lay flat. For the airport travels, which we’ve done quite a bit of traveling this year, we’ve used the Stokke Jetkids travel bed. It’s like a little luggage thing with wheels that he can sit on and we pull with a strap… he actually stays put because I’m assuming it’s fun for him… there were times he got off, but I would just make him pull the strap/luggage bag which limits him how fast he can walk.
Watching this from sunny Singapore in South East Asia. Super useful video. Clear, concise and informative. Am getting one for my 10 month old girl. Thank you so much!
Just bought a second hand one in Flame red for my 1 year old. We have two uppababy strollers a Vista and Cruz(both second hand, yeah I'm cheap lol) but we wanted something smaller and more compact yet comfortable for my boy since the strollers take up too muchh space in the trunk and a bit heavy to carry up a flight of stairs. Plus i live in the city so i wnated somethibg stylish yet comfortable for my chubby boy. I was sold on this when j first saw it at a mall. Sooo two months of hunting on FB marketplace and I found a very pretty one for cheap and wow. I should've bought one sooner! So comfortable to steer and my boy loves riding in it while also pushing it around like a toy car. I'm still new to all the little details of it but wow. 10/10!!!
Yeap, i am also hesitant about purchasing it. I have a huge bulky stroller and my doona was great for quick trips. I saw the ones on Amazon just like you and wondered if I needed it but no others fold like the doona for trips or has all the features like a canopy for the hot sun. You just sold me on the S5. You should have a commission link!
My daughter LOVES sitting up straight. Thanks for the video- very well done. We had the Doona and it was one of my top 3 baby items that make infant life easier for the parent. #1 was the SNOO, #2 Doona, #3 meal prep Cheers!
Solid review overall. I'd rate the Trike 2.5/5. For a $300 price tag, the build quality feels subpar, and the steering is far from smooth-it almost reminds me of driving a car without power steering. At $199.99, the S5 model would feel like a more reasonable purchase.
Great video, and would have sped up my decision for purchase one year ago. Great trike, love the folding mechanism and do not regret spending the money on the S5. But our two-year old still gets tired from time to time, and the Liki S5 has no reclining seat. So for long travels a proper stroller with reclining seat is a must. Found the gb Pockit+ stroller, folds down to even smaller than the Liki. Living in Africa I asked the manufacturer for Liki replacement tires, they just said contact us when one breaks. While they seem to have great confidence on their tires I would prefer to have them as backup here. Meantime I also ordered one of these baby bicycles with small double tires, as I want to get my child moving, not just sit.
First time I’ve seen the Pockit+. Very interesting. Yeah I wish they let us purchase spare tires. Would hate for one to go bad and need to wait for the replacement. Rather have it on hand. My son has started riding around on balance bikes, but for longer walkers the Liki Trike is better for him.
Where do you live Lucus?! Was thinking about getting one for us to take back to Botswana ! Your comment is really helpful.

That's why I ended with the SmarTrike S7... The seat is reclinabile to a certain extent and it includes the pedals, that can be attached when you want.
Ah yeah you can’t replace them or at least the spare part isn’t in the website. Thought it was the same as their stroller which has replaceable wheels.
Hello! Thank you for your review. I too have been thinking of getting this for my son instead of a stroller however I've had my doubts. This video helped to clear a few of them but I still have a couple questions. Does the seat recline a bit in the case that your toddler wants to take a nap? Do you find yourself constantly pushing your toddler around or do they do a combo, walk/ trike thing?
The seat does not recline so not great for naps. My son really enjoyed riding it most of the time. Every once in awhile he would want to get off and walk around but most of the time if we brought it he rode in it.
I love our doona. But I with they had one från 13kg and up. I hatad going from the doona to the regular strolers. I was thinking to go for this one but its hard for a baby 1,5 year to sleep in a trike. So need the strollers.
The Doona is super useful and best part doesn’t take to trunk space. Yeah the trike isn’t good for sleeping. Although once the child gets older and naps less it works out better.
Most of our outings he was too into the activity so he never wanted to or attempted to sleep in it. I would think it'd be a bit hard to sleep since it's pretty vertical.
I actually did not know about the smarTrike 7 in 1! It does look like a decent alternative as it does fold up nicely to fit in your car trunk. The price is also pretty appealing. Although I’m not sure how it’s 7 modes. Seems more marketing like Doona’s 5 modes.
Did you look at the Joovy brand? It’s much cheaper. I don’t think it folds into place. Curious if you evaluated that as an option to the Doona. I’m torn on the Doona due to its price point. I went with uppdababy for my infant car seat and stroller. Also, how long does your son stay in the doona for? Or how long do you max out? Trying to determine when the stroller is more appropriate. Thank you!
I think Joovy’s doesn’t fold so it would be harder to bring around. As for duration it varies depending on the activity. If it’s a stroll walking our dogs around the neighborhood he stays in it the full time which ranges from 30-45 mins depending on route. For stuff like Zoo he likes getting it to look at the animals but going from exhibit to another he stays in it.
How do you find it is on grass? I'm looking for something to replace my carrier when I take the baby and puppy to the park. The stroller isn't great over grass so I need something which can cope!
The wheels are not heavy duty. They’re probably on par with regular stroller wheels. The ride is decent but due to the tricycle design they will feel some bumps, my son doesn’t seem to mine. The canopy is good a size in my opinion.
Carrying short distances isn’t hard like boarding the plane or train but they are a bit heavy to carry through the airport. Easier to just push your child. They weigh about 14.7lb/6.7kg.
The 3 point harness is a bit difficult to get used it. At least for me when I found the perfect configuration it wasn't too bad, although the shoulder paddings don't always stay in place.
My son loves it still. He likes riding in it when we take out on walks and the park. Not too much has really changed since the video. We haven’t even thought about needing to buy anything else. He’s almost tall enough to start riding it but won’t be able to completely peddle right now. Due to my broken foot he hasn’t proceeded very far with the Stryder balance bike. He was starting to get there before I broke it, but hasn’t used it about 7 weeks.
Wheels are definitely the first thing to go as they’re constantly being pushed on different terrains. We had the Liki Trike for over a year now and the wheels have held up so far. I haven’t noticed too much wear and tear on them but it’ll depend on where you bring the trike.
I would say s3 is worth it if the s5 extras don’t appeal to you. It’s only a couple extras add on and color options otherwise they all ride and push the same.
the S1 doesn’t include the padding on the guard and the accessory bag. I’m not sure if the S1 is discontinued or not as it’s not on the Doona site. At least in the US.
I was waiting for this review... I found it interesting that you used it as a stroller. Can your son sleep in this?? I think im going to get the mockingbird for a stroller (after doona)
My son doesn’t sleep in it or at least he hasn’t fallen asleep in it before. Most the time he’s too interested in looking around. The Mockingbird looks to be a good stroller. We almost bought it ourselves.
Does your trike make noise when you are moving it? I just got my midnight and have taken it on one stroll and it seems it like the wheels squeak when we are moving it.
Our Trike is fairly silent unless the brake isn’t pulled all the way up. Then there’s a clicking noise as the wheels are hitting the brakes. Haven’t heard a squeak before though.
Doona needs to pay you for this video, because I'm sold!!!
😂 I wish they paid me haha. I’m probably not even on their radar 😆
This is an AWESOME review! From one dad to another, thank you for this detailed review. About to purchase one for my son for Christmas!
You’re welcome! Glad the video helped out. How your son enjoys the Trike!
Thanks for this review, great detail in helping understand the differences between the available versions!

Thank you for this review, I found it extremely helpful! I think we'll get the S5 as well.
Glad it was helpful! We still use our S5 all the time. My son at 2.5 is finally starting to be tall enough to start attempting to pedal himself.
By far the best reviewers! Thanks we are going with the s5

Hope you baby enjoys the Trike!

Never had a chance to use the SNOO. Maybe my next child 😅
Thanks for this video! Bubs is outgrowing his doona car seat and stroller so now on to the next
Good thing this one will last much longer!

We have the smartrike and we’ve been loving it. Its a bit more of a hassle to close since the front wheel has to be removed to close it.
Sounds like the Smartrike is a good alternative! If I didn't already own the Liki I might take a look into it.

We just ordered the s3 in desert green. We didn’t think the travel bag was all that necessary. Can’t wait to use it soon!
We use it as a stroller! We like everything about it except the tires get worn out fast.
Did you have to change out the tires already? Mine still seem to be okay.
@@kevin-lu no not yet. Don't know if we can replace the tires?

Leather is probably going to be easier to clean.
Hi! Thanks for the video! Thinking of getting one. Does baby manage to sleep on the liki trike ?
Most of our outings he was too into the activity so he never wanted to or attempted to sleep in it. I would think it'd be a bit hard to sleep since it's pretty vertical.
Well explain thank you , I been wondering what was the difference between them , now I know lol thanks 🙏 we got the gray color 😃
Glad the video was able to help! Hope your little one is enjoying the Liki Trike. Mine still loves riding it in.
Hi Kevin, thank you so much for your great review. Anyway, did you consider with smarTrike 7 in 1 before purchasing doona? Any idea about smarTrike?

I really wish they made a longer parent control bar accessory
Hello Kevin, after your boy grew up, did he ride the bike on his own? Or this was used as stroller only? Thank you!
He can ride it on his own now! Although he’s starting to outgrow it now at 4 1/2.
Thank you for your reply. That's helpful
Thanks! Very thorough review!
You’re welcome. Hope it helped!
How do you find it is on grass? I'm looking for something to replace my carrier when I take the baby and puppy to the park. The stroller isn't great over grass so I need something which can cope!
For short trimmed grass it works fine but if the grass is too tall or the ground is too soft it’s not the best experience.
Great video - very informative, thank you!
Holy 🐄 is this like the lamborghini of trike for kids 😳 ? Awesome review Kevin 👍
It is quite pricey for a trike 😆. Thanks!
Bentley trikes would be more comparable to Lamborghini. I wish I was joking but it's really a thing. bentleytrike.com/
OMG Bentley trikes! Can’t believe the exist.
I picked mine off color and price I was about to get the black but I didn’t pay attention to the difference
Hi! In your opinion are the wheels made of heavy duty rubber? Is the ride smooth? And do you think the canopy is large enough?
The wheels are not heavy duty. They’re probably on par with regular stroller wheels. The ride is decent but due to the tricycle design they will feel some bumps, my son doesn’t seem to mine. The canopy is good a size in my opinion.
Thank you!!
Thanks, this was simple, informative and i didn’t have to fast forward once lol
I do try my best to get to the point as I know parents are busy. Every minute counts!
hi kevin, just want to ask if midnight got reclining backrest? thanks
I don’t think any version have reclining seats.
Are these heave for mums to carry, we are thinking getting one for baby's holiday as he will be 10 months then
Carrying short distances isn’t hard like boarding the plane or train but they are a bit heavy to carry through the airport. Easier to just push your child. They weigh about 14.7lb/6.7kg.

What’s the wheels like? In terms of durability. I’ve read about reviews on other trikes and it seems that the wheels always go
Wheels are definitely the first thing to go as they’re constantly being pushed on different terrains. We had the Liki Trike for over a year now and the wheels have held up so far. I haven’t noticed too much wear and tear on them but it’ll depend on where you bring the trike.

Going for S5 no midnight where I stay
Want the midnight 😍
There is alternative to this one made in Europe Kinderkraft for half of the price
I’ll check out the brand. Haven’t looked into it before.
Is the quality good?
Is it bouncy when it comes to asphalt use?
We used it plenty on asphalt trails at parks and never noticed. But there aren’t any springs or shocks but not many strollers do either.
Hi! Do the wheels swivel or rotate 360 degrees?
They do not. They’re more in line with how a typical tricycle wheels are set up.
Is it possible for the child to take a short nap on the trike?
They probably could take a short nap as the high back rest can actually be adjusted to recline.
Excellent review. Very informative
Is S3 worth to buy? S5 is so expensive
I would say s3 is worth it if the s5 extras don’t appeal to you. It’s only a couple extras add on and color options otherwise they all ride and push the same.
@@kevin-lu thanks kevin for the reply. How about s1?
I’ve never seen the S1 in person but I assume it’s essentially the same with even less bells and whistles.
I think i gettin the s3 i not pay more for this i have the doona stroller already so
Not a bad choice as the S3 for all purposes is the same if you don’t need the extras from the S5.
@@kevin-lu thank you so much
Hi! Til what age were u able to use the S5 for your son? Or are you still using it? Can he still fit in it and use it with comfort?
My son is 3 and still uses it. He’s tall enough to reach the pedal and fits comfortably. I think it’ll last for at least another year or two.
Is it supposed to be so stiff to turn?
It does as the wheels and control mechanism is designed as a trike and not a traditional stroller.
What about s1
the S1 doesn’t include the padding on the guard and the accessory bag. I’m not sure if the S1 is discontinued or not as it’s not on the Doona site. At least in the US.

good reivew! nice
Hope the review helped!
Can I get it for my 7 month old baby ?
If your child can sit in their own then it should be okay. Otherwise you might want to wait until then.
Im interested in buying this product, however im concerned about the lack of support in the head... whats your opinion?
There is slight support but my son never leans back. He prefers to sit up and look around. If your child naps in the stroller then it might not work.
Are they the same size?
They’re all the same size.
are the seat reversible?
The seat is not reversible.
wow that a cool stroller...can pack it up so nice and compact...awesome!
everything so high tech now lol
The compact is nice makes bringing it around places easier. Everything is getting so much more high tech. Even low tech stuff lol
Can they sleep in the DOONA trike?
Due to how upright the trike has the child I don't think sleeping will be very comfortable.
Getting the higher models in the UK is a myth and a hustle. Its pushing me off getting a doona. I want the midnight 😩
