For anyone interested, the word 'Tron' comes from an old basic programming language command. Tron was short for 'trace on' and was a command used to help debug code. You issued the 'troff' command to turn the trace off. The original character 'Tron' in the first film was written by Alan Bradley to locate rogue code.

Really paints an image of Flynn as the sort of God of Space Paranoids.
Looks great. I've been waiting 28 years for a sequel. The original Tron was one of my favorite movies as a kid in the 80s. I used to bug my mom to rent Tron for me all the time back then.
Best movie in a long time, at least, compared to any sort of parallel universe, matrix-type movie. We need more movies like this.
Jeff Bridges was phenomenal in this. I love him! Such a great movie.

I found TRON L and TRUE GRIT to be two of the better and more entertaining movies this year. 2 complete opposite films - but both carried by Jeff Bridges. Amazing movies. Great actor.
I just felt like saying I saw this movie twice in Disney digital 3d and I'm considering seeing a third time. It's been a long time since I was so crazy about a movie. After seeing the first one 2 months ago, I wasn't expecting much from this movie but the musical score and the "epicness" of this movie seriously caught me. This is one of my most favorite movies now.

HOW ON EARTH DIDN'T THIS MOVIE RECIEVE AN OSCAR FOR BEST ART DIRECTION AND SOUNDTRACK?! The Oscars are an utter FAIL, that's why! Juts a bunch of old men who don't know about true music nor art. I'm not saying the nominated scores were bad... but please, Hans Zimmer has gotten thousands of best scores... Why not let Daft Punk win?
This looks gorgeous. The story looks epic, I feel it was a /very/ good move to involve Pixar's story development team in the refining of the plot. And the Daft Punk score really lends to the scope!
I love how Jeff Bridges is playing three different age groups between Kevin Flynn and Clu.

I loved this movie remake, I want to see it again and again and then also get it on DVD. The story is great about how Sam Flynn searches for and finds his dear old dad and the video game aspect really was exciting to connect with.
loved it, went to see it and a member of staff said to me it was awesome. Such a brilliant concept and great story plus CGI

Best trailers I've seen ever so far. Incredible music.
TRON legacy was nothing short of pure triumph and miraculous. The action, visuals, and soundtrack were absolutely amazing. Contrary to some beliefs i found the story good as well, can't really understand all the complaints. People ask for too much out of a movie these days. This is definitely in my top 5 sci-fi of all time second to only MATRIX. I've seen it twice plan on a 3rd. Can't wait for blu-ray release and the sequel to this masterpiece.
Wow. The plot is slowly starting to unfold and I can not wait to see what they do with this. My brain still can not hold the sheer awesome that this movie is presenting itself to be!

The original tron got myself and a generation of other artists into 3d and digital art. they invented blue screening then called black lighting and HAD TO PROGRAM THE 3d from the ground up!

I really do hope this movie lives up to the legacy set before it by TRON, a true masterpiece of man, machine, art and soul.

Everything was perfect, the visuals, the story, the actors, and needless to say the music.
I saw the original Tron and was blown away then.....Now i saw Legacy in Imax 3D and there are no words to describe the enjoyment i had watching it!...I felt like i was transported back in time to the 80's and it felt awesome!! Cant wait for the Buray!!
is it weird that I wasnt even born when the original tron came out.. yet i grew up watching, and loving it.. and I saw this.. yesterday. and now im still watching the trailers. and getting all chilled up over here ... goose bumps my friends... goose bumps.. ill be 23 next month..

i just saw a sneak preview. i'm a tron fan from the original, played the video game, peppered my speech with tronisms, the whole nine. I'm telling you right now that you are going to love this new one. it does not disappoint one bit. the action is great. the costumes are knockout, the music is killer and the visuals are stunning. the story holds together. the whole thing works. this movie is as cool as the matrix. darker, cooler more action packed than the original. you'll want to see it twice.
To think the idea for Tron was conceived in 1976. WAY ahead of its time.
I love that techno sound that starts at 1:00 is it from any daft punk song?

This is one of the best movies I have every seen! Heck, I would even get some of their toys! Its pure epic in every way. Great Movie, Great Story, Great Effects!

Hmm, I was worried about this, after loving the first. After watching that, this could possibly be movie of the year. They've kept the dark, sci-fi madness intact, and it looks amazing.
last year, by december, i read an article about TRON and someone told me that a new TRON movie was coming, in december 2010 and after almost a year finally it's here

At 2:15 the whole cinema was in awe, this movie was in every sense of the word, immense.

A tremendous film...if you see it in Imax. I have just seen it for the third time....and my first was regular 3D. Imax changed the whole experience...the awesome speaker system...the complete envelopment of the audience...the gigantic sense of scale made this the best Imax experience I've ever had. See it again...in Imax. Fabulous.
It's a game changer. THis film should be released every 4 years in Imax....what a freakin' party...(and I'm pushing 60)
i'd watch it again!!! i wish this movie was a lil bit longer... thumbs up !! loved how they made it more compatible with today's high tech and advanced 3D effect.. loved it so much.. the storyline wasnt that good for me, but once it was nearing the climax, then i understood the beginning.. hahaha... really wish there were more movies like this...
The "Inception-like" music/sound blasts have been used in several trailers recently. The trailers for Transformers 2 used them before Inception, for example.

i saw it at a premiere screening last night at IMAX 3D and it was quite good, visuals were amazing and simple storyline. I think it is really good as a sequel, although i have not seen the original.

Saw it yesterday. This movie was awesome! The score reminded me a lot like something that Don Davis would have done (he scored the Matrix).

FYI People, the music for Inception trailer was NOT by Hans Zimmer or part of the film soundtrack, it was just made for the trailers. Exactly the same for this trailer. Look up 'Two Steps From Hell', they've made a lot of music specifically for trailers only :).

found an easter egg in Tron : Legacy. When sam was taken to the light cycle grid, the part where fireworks where blasting in the sky, if you see closely there is the disney castle in tron/neon style,standing just above the stadium and it is the same castle during the first part of the movie.

i just finished watching this 50 minutes ago....although the story may be shallow and cheesy, everything else was amazing...the stunning visual effects, pace of action, and literal awe of Tron's 'digital' world.

They've been hiding it in the trailer this whole time but just wait till the young CGI version of Bruce Boxleitner shows up in the movie and tells Sam "My name is Tron." That theatre is going to go nuts!!
Anyone else notice when Sam powers up the computer it has the timer running for sleep mode since Kevin Flynn was the last one to use it, reading 20 years, 11 months, 20 days, 16 hours, 22 minutes and 16 seconds ago? XD

For those who keep saying this trailer ripped off inception's music, Daft Punk made the music for this movie in 2009, before inception came out. So any similarity is purely coincidental.
