I was the Peterbilt with the spread axle van and my cb wasn't working. I was having a bad week until I saw you and then it hit me that I'm not the only one out here that has struggles. So thanks Kurt for making my day. I got unloaded 40 minutes after I passed you and went directly to the wash. I've seen you quite a few times at Sparkys or on a ramp and didn't want to bother you, but I'm sure I'll run into you again.
If you get tired of that trucking mess get out of it and do what I do. Make more money, keep more of the money, work during the day Monday through Friday, at home every night
@@theallaroundguy2399 Its neither of those issues. Just getting bad fuel, people pulling out in front of me, parts failures, and dumb mistakes made by me. Things I'm use to, but came all at once. It's all good, and Kurt made my day after seeing him and thinking of all the little breakdowns he has. Our trucks are about the same age and he has been doing the same repairs I have been. I am glad he puts outs videos because not only are they entertaining, they help others in different ways.
Brother, I’m not laughing at you- I am actually proud of you for doing what you need to to stay warm out there in the bitter cold! 🥶🥶🥶🥶 I am a firm believer in “ whatever it takes to get the job done, that’s what you do!” And that’s exactly what you’re doing! 🥳🥳🥳🥳 Take care, and keep up the great work! And as always, my best to you and all your family !
Don't worry about complaining when it's cold. I don't like the cold either! We still have temps in the 30's and 40's during the day and 20's at night. You and your family have a Merry Christmas!
Nope... that is soooo not stupid. Reflectix is a must have for van camping. I have the silver stuff all over my van. You do what ya gotta do... Merry Christmas
No laughing from me. Do what you need to do to stay warm. Love the videos. Merry Christmas to you and the family from Ottawa, Canada. PS it is damn cold here too, ha, ha.
Hey Kurt! Have you tried adjusting your door? Maybe add insulation around your door frame on both sides. We’re not laughing at you it sucks being cold 😀
Wishing the whole Schmidt family a very merry Christmas and a happy and safe new year!!!!!!! From Las Vegas Nevada!!!¡!!!!! ❤❤❤❤😊😊😊🎉🎉🎉 KEEP ON TRUCKING KURT!!!!!!
Inside the door should have like a plastic sheet to help with road noise and air coming through the panel. Most likely gone many years ago. I'm sure they sale something to replace it with.
You do what you have to do to stay warm, I rode in s cab over with my friend as an employee, he was a owner operator lease on to Mayflower moving inc, man that truck was cold going down the interstate, my feet was freezing, I had to put alot of moving blankets on the floor just to keep them warm, that can over put out some💩ty heat every month I went on the road with him for two week back in the 90's My career was executive chef when I got burn out I take a year off and go work for him. Anyway stay warm at any cost.
Kurt. That is a common problem with every truck I have been in. You got it spot on!! Now remove that door panel and install that sheet on the inside of the door then tape the gaps. Problem solved!!
You don't need to be cold. I gave my son in law a heated vest for Christmas. You can also get hats, jackets, gloves, socks. Or disposable pocket, gloves, back, foot and toe warmers.
If we are laughing it's because we're doing those things too and we know how it rolls😊. Gotta do what ya gotta do. I have a 18 wheel salt lick that's driving me nuts but snowy roads about every day just doesn't justify a wash yet. Stay warm..I'm trucking that propane as fast as I can. Lol
Hi Kurt. I put that dynamat in the doors of my pickup for sound insulation. (So. Cal.). I put it in the fairing of my Road Glide also...no more rattles and squeaks. Good stuff..expensive.
Kurt if you would when you go back to pick up your Striker would you do an interview inside Walcott radio I have bought supplies and radios from them and have them shipped back to Tennessee but have never actually seen the inside of the store❤❤
I’m not a big fan of the cold myself. It’s 15° today in Chicagoland. I don’t think you’re whining. I think you’re just telling us what temperature it is. Lol great video.
My wife and I took a short trip yesterday by your standards about 250 miles. Outside temp was little of 40. Not cold but heater needed. My Toyota Tundra Platinum pickup was so comfortable. Had some Christmas music going. Most interstate all the way in South Carolina. When it comes to heat and cool, my truck is going to work. So Kurt, why not take First Class to a body shop and have them stop the air leaks. Probably want take them two hours. In your neck of the woods, it gets damn cold. Not so good when air is moving by your neck at 10 degrees.
Staying warm is important. I rollup paper towel and stick it in the gap between the locomotive door and the body and then duct tape the door in an attempt to keep the draft down.
Try insulating BOTH doors. If the seals on both sides out just screwed, ya need to replace BOTH sides. Totally eliminates air leaks. Same goes for the window seals and bunk door seals. Had an ol long nose Pete back when i started and had the same problem. Replaced every seal im the cab and was cozy warm...then they gave me a newer truck.
Kurt you should look in to a Hcalory diesel heater mount it on the deck plate and duct it in it seems all the truck camping people are using them have a great day be safe.
Hey I think it is a good idea, I remember days when I'd have to wear snow boots and use sweatshirts to wrap around my legs to stay warm when the wind was blowing also use a ice scraper on the drivers door window 😂, Merry Christmas
Kurt you had your chance to take a selfie of Firstclass and you behind that shiny hiney reefer trailer!😆😂🤣 Merry Christmas to you and all your family.Stafe safe out their and enjoy the holidays at home.
merry christmas to you and first class and of coarse to your whole family and the fur babies thats from this old 2 stick gear jammer with 44 years of dragging step deck ,and flat bed tandem with a pup trailer with a crane to unload stuff whose up on blocks up here in atlantic canada stay safe out there watch every video too
Nothing to be sorry about Kurt. I've never been a truck driver, but I've definitely dealt with both hot and cold weather.❤❤ It's a tough job, but your doing great. Just be you brother! God bless and Merry Christmas 🎉🎉
we're all pulling for ya Kurt. Get warm, keep warm and stay safe!!.....get yourself a little tushy warmer, get some 32 degree long johns at Costco and always wear a hat!! 70 to 80% of your heat escapes from the top of your head !! Hats without a coat makes a huge difference!!! Merry Christmas my friend!!
When you get your CB back, have them check your standing wave. That will kill a CB quick if it's way high or slowly if it's a bit high. As for the door.. do what ya have to lol Its cold in my room. Imagine a basement with no insulation and just a space heater lol Stay warm my friend.
your bad dad joke...... when i heard it i lol LOUD!! my wife asked w.t.h. i told her the joke between laughing.... she got a good laugh out of it also. thanks for a good bad dad joke on a monday. from the wife and me MERRY CHRISTMAS to you and yours!

Hey Kurt, I’m the one who gave you a shout out on the radio at the Kum & Go at Tipton, Iowa on Thursday night 12-19-24.
Merry Christmas, Kurt and the whole team at Schmidt 's family trucking. Hope for a healthy new year as well.
I agree with most, you do what you gotta do, just glad you got warm
Brother, I’m not laughing at you- I am actually proud of you for doing what you need to to stay warm out there in the bitter cold! 🥶🥶🥶🥶 I am a firm believer in “ whatever it takes to get the job done, that’s what you do!” And that’s exactly what you’re doing! 🥳🥳🥳🥳 Take care, and keep up the great work! Merry Christmas
Kurt, there's 3 things truckers do well: Get the job done, argue and whine. Wear it proudly. 🙂
The old cabovers i always had cold feet but we didnt know any better we were different breed of trucker back then..
And knees
The only time I was ever warm in the cabovers I drove was in the bunk under blankets.
No laughing from me. Do what you need to do to stay warm. Love the videos. Merry Christmas to you and the family from Ottawa, Canada. PS it is damn cold here too, ha, ha.
Whatever it takes to stay warm!!! 🥶.
MERRY CHRISTMAS 🎄

Wishing the whole Schmidt family a very merry Christmas and a happy and safe new year!!!!!!! From Las Vegas Nevada!!!¡!!!!! ❤❤❤❤😊😊😊🎉🎉🎉 KEEP ON TRUCKING KURT!!!!!!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you, the family, and the dogs!
A Good Dork would be popping that bubble wrap going down the road when he gets bored 😂
I've been there a few times, and they have always been helpful and had the right equipment.
The older one gets the colder the temp seams.🤩👍👍
Wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas.
Merry Christmas too you and your family
Hey Kurt, the insulation you're doing to stay warm will also help you to stay cool next summer. Keep up the great work.
Great idea I would do the same safe travels and Merry Christmas
Inside the door should have like a plastic sheet to help with road noise and air coming through the panel. Most likely gone many years ago. I'm sure they sale something to replace it with.
You gotta do what you gotta do, nothing wrong with trying to stay comfortable! I ain't gonna laugh at you! Wish you the best! I enjoy your videos
Install the insulation material inside your door. Glue it to the inside of the outer door skin.
It’s 9° here in New Jersey. Tomorrow’s gonna be cold not looking forward to going to work, but let’s go another day in trucking.

Kurt. I live 400 feet from Route 20 in NewYork. Whenever I have go east or west I use it rather than using I 90. I love 20 for the same reasons you do
My 1978 cabover Pete was a bit cold because someone severely twister the top of the door outward. I used a blanket over my lap when it got realy cold.
Ducktape.... just like Red Green😂🎉
Hi Kurt. I put that dynamat in the doors of my pickup for sound insulation. (So. Cal.). I put it in the fairing of my Road Glide also...no more rattles and squeaks. Good stuff..expensive.

-16 Celsius here in New Brunswick Canada as I sit by my wood stove.
Walcott Radio is pretty hard to beat Kurt. They know their stuff. Merry Christmas to you and your family!
Staying warm is important. I rollup paper towel and stick it in the gap between the locomotive door and the body and then duct tape the door in an attempt to keep the draft down.
I met my wife on the CB radio 45 years ago

Some of the best money you could spend on that w900 would be the heater fan upgrade!
Yeah, anytime it’s in the negative degrees Kurt, I’d be cold 🥶 too sir. Do your best to keep warm & motor safe, my friend.
Happy Holidays to you and your family
