CLINICAL CORRELATION Injury to this nerve will cause : 1) pain in the hip and knee joints respectively. 2) weak adduction of the legs. 3) loss of sensation in the medial aspect of thigh.
The posterior branch pierces obturator externus and descends between adductor brevis and adductor magnus. The anterior branch however passes between adductor longus and adductor brevis. The adductor brevis is innervated by both the divisions of the obturator nerve.

First thank u very much for this clear explaining but excuse me doctor i have a Question:the skin of the medial side of the thigh innervated by Obturator Nerve and also by medial cutanous nerve of the thigh so why Obturator Nerve injury cause loss of sensation although medial cutanous nerve is present??

The obturator nerve passes down beneath the psoas major and leaves the pelvis by passing through the obturator foramen.

Anterior division supply : adductor longus , pectineus, gracilis , adductor brevis ( some fiber they if not supply by posterior division)
Posterior division supply adductor magnus , adductor brevis, obchurator externus
