Nobuo Uematsu is known for creating amazing blends of rock and orchestral as well as loving older tracks from his younger years, as well as Star Wars with stuff like The Red Wings, but that guitar riff being so directly inspired by Wayward Son was a pleasant surprise from him I can’t help but love. Made this fight so much more memorable for such a great villain!
Ah, the Darkness of Eternity. If you were a final boss theme, you would've unseated Dancing Mad as the #1 final boss theme. That said, it is my all time favorite boss theme. I went through the entirety of the 00s listening to this. Even now in the 20s, I still listen to it whenever it pops up on Pandora or My Mix here on TH-cam. If only I could add more likes to the video.

I'm with you on that, and also, am I the only one who thinks the instrumentation on M3's fight is very similar to this one? heavy rock, guitar, organs, the drums, all the instruments are pretty similar even though the melodies differ.
Kuja is ssj4 lol. That music is on par with one winged angel/the extreme / dancing mad to my mind. Hope someday i Will hear the distant world version arranged by the man himself
Honestly couldn't add a thing to the acclaim this theme already has, except the reminder that completely taking out Kuja's MP before their HP actually makes them a much tougher fight as they then spam the heck out of Flare Star, which WILL two-shot EVERYONE if he gets to attack twice in a row unless Regen's kicking in fast. Also, I cannot recommend people listen to Simon Loveridge's cover enough. He doesn't beat around the bush and just gets to the good part that makes Dark Messenger its own thing from Kuja's other leitmotifs.

[Boss Battle vs. Trance Kuja. At the end of the battle, he's defeated. He says; "Ugh... I'm gonna die anyway..."; "I won't have to be afraid anymore..."; "But I'm not gonna die alone."; "You're all coming with me!". He casts 'Ultima', which blasts into all characters, KO'ing them. They fall on the ground, defeated, Kuja tumbles backwards. The screen fades to white] And of course, just like with Beatrix, you are never allowed to beat Kuja (though at least in this case the Ultima spell seems to also backfire on Kuja), and also like Beatrix, Zidane is present… who is supposed to be stronger than them. What SHOULD have happened was that: All of Zidane's true powers awakened, he gets a special Trance form (with black angel wings even!) and absolutely curbstomps Kuja, instead of this unsatisfactory bullshit that we got. Why didn't Kuja just immediately cast Ultima at the start of the fight anyways?

個人的に一番好きなゲームBGMです。
最初にプレイした時に強く印象に残り、サントラを買い、3DSのシアトリズムで300回以上プレイし、これのためにアーケード版シアトリズムに通った思い出の曲。
ファンで応援している羽生結弦選手のアイスストーリー単独ショーRE_PRAYで、使用されて演技しているのを見て、初めて知ったのですが、聴けば聴くほど大好きな曲になりました❗TH-camにありがとうございます‼️

Trance Kuja should have been the final boss. He's a proper challenge despite low HP and his theme absolutely rocks.
