Quick tip… I use to go to thrift store and buy bed sheets as many as I could find.. and would cover all bushes and small foliage made it so nice to walk around and no overspray. Especially bushes that were a little overgrown and client didn’t want to trim. Hopefully this helps.

Cool video! Chris. I just finished a whole exterior 7 substrates, 6 colors. I painted from the ground all eavestroughs using the GOOSENECK on a pole. Did not go up and down ladders! I saved so much time! Cheers! The Gooseneck Guy!

8/6/23; ..so Chris great video 2day! All on job action, no dialog, just work. Kinda wish you could add sub text line of names of equipment, Like that red '850'? Airless paint sprayor, paint mfgr. (ShrmWillms?) & paint filter bag, size of spray tip & brand of caulk. This video shows just how much prep work must be done b4 the paint hits the surface. Much enjoy your channel. Hi Chris, you ever use a swivel on your spray pole extension? My favorite for most work is 3’ with the swivel. Looks like a 2’ is your favorite?

@ 15:00 what’s the spray you are using and why is that important step. Are you sealing the tape edge to avoid bleed through? If you don’t mind me asking
Can you give me recommendations on painting a vinyl sided house. The original color has faded and my choice are to paint it or replace it with Fiber cement board. Your thoughts.
Paint is cheaper but make sure its vinyl safe colors or it will damage you vinyl.

I just recently painted an aluminum siding house. The sheen was satin and when I'd spray a section and get down to move my ladder and start spraying again after drying the over lapping marks are visible. Do you have any tips on how to prevent that. I've noticed it's only visible on completely smooth surfaces.
I see how a lot of people pain different directions and yes I agree I was always taught to never start stop in the middle of siding especially smooth areas it will show… I would pull back and feather the edges like they spray a car in a shop. Don’t leave a hard start stop marks even exterior flat has some sheen.
@valleybarbell thanks for the reply. I know not to stop but unfortunately when moving the ladder it's unavoidable.
Yeah I agree sometimes it’s unavoidable. Especially high up work. As long as you spray the right direction. Some go up and down on siding then side to side. It will show. It will die down over time. I learned a lot of stuff the hard way lol
@valleybarbell thanks man I just started spraying end of last summer. This summer I've been spraying alot. I'm getting better but. I got the graco quickshot and i got the x5 which is entry level but with the fflp tips im pleased for right now. I got the quickshot for doors mainly and it does a pretty good job i love it bc it doesnt spit. I'm extremely fussy about my work and them marks drove me nuts. Does a flat sheen show them or not.
Nice. I was a painting contractor for 15 years and I was lucky enough to have an old guy teach me everything he knew when I first started painting. So many little tips to learn I see so many new things out there now to make the job easier on the body I wish I had back then. It’s a great trade I made alot of money and it was a rewarding job. Met alot of very nice clients along the way.
