Because Bakugou has been bullying him for years yet he didn't try to harm himself and if you watch the episode, you'll see that even after he told him to kill himself, Izuku never actually gave up. He only gave up when All might told him he couldn't be a hero and it makes sense why he would give up because of All might not Bakugou.
