One of those rare cars that started as a late-night office idea when the accountants and the project manager have all gone home and the group of true enthusiasts in the office collaborate to make their dreams come true. Impractical, expensive for customer and company, and yet oh so glorious. Not many cars like this ever make it into production. Such a car is a celebration.

The window is DIRTY, not broken. The car doesn't NEED TO BE WASHED because it is a CAR and being DRIVEN in the COLD and WET.

in my opinion, the only thing wrong with this car is the active wing. something just about saying ultimate aston, just doesn't sound right when active aero is involved.

I can't state how awesome this car is, I've been lucky enough to be driven around in one for half a day by someone who worked their. Without getting them in trouble this car is very capable of 200mph. You get cooked down one side by the exhaust and then frozen on the other side by the aircon.

The way it looks in that opening shot is just so beautiful. Don't care much for the color, I think I would have it in grey myself, but the shape of the car is simply stunning. Aston Martin's greatest achievement.

I think Aston Martin passed up a perfect opportunity to join the hybrid-hyper car club. It's an amazing car, no doubt, but it was a perfect candidate to be in the same category as the McLaren P1, Porsche 918, and Ferrari LaFerrari. Plenty of room for batteries, a motor/regen unit, and all the other bits that go with making the One-77 a hybrid-hypercar. Imagine all that power from the internal combustion engine combined with around 200 extra hp from the electric motor(s) with their torque-fill attributes and the combined overall horsepower. This is a special car, but could have been extra special.

I agree that they could have done more with this cars architecture. However, i believe that this is not what aston is about if you look at their range, they are all quick but not matching their "rivals". They are designed for the experience of driving with the exception of maybe the Vantage S or Vantage N24. The one 77 is the ultimate aston in that it carries the brand image through the companies three main slogans. Power, Beauty and Soul

Nice to finally see an independent review of the One-77. All the other ones have people from Aston Martin with with so they have to watch what they say. Great review, great car.
It seems like an amazing car but an F12 has a similar recipe but much better execution of it. But if I'm not mistaken, the One 77 came out several years before the F12, so it can be forgiven

But they have similar acceleration. I’d say the F12berlinetta might be a bit quicker because of the dual clutch, but the One-77 has more torque by about 40lb-ft and has 20 more horses. Both weigh 1630kg.

Now THIS is how you do a limited edition car! Something totally different from the rest of the lineup both chassis and engine wise! It’s not like some Veneno or Centenario that’s literally an Aventador with a body kit, or even the LaFerrari that uses the exact same V12 that’s from the F12! They aren’t unique enough for the price they demand. THIS is something special. THIS is something that isn’t talked about enough. What an iconic vehicle. Great job Aston Martin!

With the active aero spoiler I get exactly the same effect in my Crossfire, every time it raises and lowers you hear the electronic motors whirring, like a dalek rolling past.

Nice car. Love it inside and out. I dont think Aston was going after the same clientele McLaren, Ferrari & Porsche were. This looks very refined and is incredibly exclusive.

Beautiful car, but pretty meh on performance and as a gt car... It's clearly not a supercar, more of a gt car, yet no luggage space... Apart from looking good and being rare af it's kinda pointless, it's as expensive as yet too heavy to be compared to a p1, doesn't have the performance of an aventadore, or an F12... Why would you bother? An f12 is better at everything, or even a 599 for that matter... Meh

You buy an Aston for the class. There's nothing like the feel of driving an Aston and that's not something you can measure or put a price tag on.

I agree, they make handsome cars, but this car is 75% profit for Aston, they should have just made this the new vanquish and sold at lower price in higher volume... If this is all they've got to "throw everything they got at a car" then ultra exotics is just not Astons game... Just cal it a vanquish, sell more, make more profit, everybody's happy... Sorry, I just don't get this car at this price, it's stupid, and sorry, but just not good enough for the price, buy a veyron...?
According to Ferrari the 599 does 0-60 in 3.5 versus 3.6 for the new vanquish and 3.5 for the 1-77. The f12' s 660 pounds of torque gives it an advantage at low speeds but higher speed acceleration and top speed are very close and I' d wager on the Aston on the track as Ross Brawn and Lauda pointed out the inability of Italians to engineer a well balanced car. A 400 bhp Lotus would destroy these overpowered leviathans on any track or mountain road

Awesome! One day im gonna own one of them. Its timeless and beautiful, they used the fibonacci sequence to design it, just what i use in designing aswell. For now my R8 and GTR have to do

I'd rather take the F12 Berlinetta. It's better in every way. And so much cheaper. I'm not impressed with the Aston. That's just my opinion.
You cant really rationalize cars in this price range. Its a bit like the finest wines in the world. A very rare wine might cost 600 USD for a bottle. And is it then 3 times as good as a less rare wine, which cost 200 USD? Most likely not.
But if you are really rich, maybe you just like to taste the even rarer wine, and then you will buy it, because money dont really matter to you, and you can only drink a few glasses pr. day without damaging your health.
Its the same with a car like this. There is not a single owner of this car, who will not also have an almost endless number of others cars in their collection. And then its worth the money to them, because it gives them a different experience than their F12 Berlinetta, which they probably also have, and so on.
Is the F12 Berlinetta better value for money? Of course it is, it has the same level of performance and cost much less. But its just the same with wine. The 200 USD and 600 USD bottle both contain the same amount of alcohol, and so by the way does a 5 USD bottle of wine. So the 5 USD bottle of wine is obviously the better value, but thats not really the end of the story, is it?
Sorry dude, I'd still go for the better car, and if it's cheaper, even better.
