  • There are two ways to get your files loaded up onto the Autodesk Construction Cloud / BIM360... and people often do it the Wrong way. This video will show you best practice to get your files from your server, and up onto BIM360 for collaboration.
    -------
    If your company needs BIM/Revit Assistance.. you can get help without hiring an in-house BIM Manager.
    A virtual BIM Manager (me) means you and your team can get immediate help (and ongoing assistance) without dealing with the overhead of hiring someone full time.

    Mike, please keep your videos coming. This was instrumental in helping me understand how to use Revit and BIM 360 "collaboratively" - (pun intended). New to BIM and Revit (plumber by trade for 20 yrs). Thanks for keeping it simple.

    Hey Mark I just found your channel and I gotta say out of all the revit tutorials I found on TH-cam or anywhere you really do give the best tips and your energy and charisma in every video is super awesome and keeps me on track in learning more technical and different tools in revit. Honestly thank you so much for your nice attitude in making these videos this is what tutorials should be! Not some guy behind a camera mumbling… anyways as a soon to be 4th year architecture student God bless you man you are amazing keep doing what your doing.

      Thanks.. who knew that 10k Revit users would find value with these. I'm shocked and also honored. And I love how I don't monetize.. that way I can relax and simply help people. :)

    you can also go to file. save as > save to cloud (at least in revit 23 anyway). then if you've got access to the project you can navigate to it and save it into the project and it'll still workshare like normal.

    Someone with some tech experience could make BIM360 an afterthought. Most people just need to work on the models from multiple locations. They don't need to track RFI's and bloat like that. Once somebody figures that out, the prices will come down, or else.

    Thanks for a really good explanation. I did what you should not…it would be nice if someone did a flow diagram of the process. Probably not needed after your explanation. Insertion points are my next worry. I am doing a piping drawing and have been asked to upload my drawing to bim 360, so how do I fix the insertion point?

      Your team could use Shared Coordinates.. and that will align the files. But if the files are already started and not aligned.. you will need to align them (move the link) into position and then pin it.. any updates will be in context. And then you an initiate Shared Coordinates if you wanted to at that time.

    I think the title should be Enabling worksharing for a BIM 360 Project. I am looking for how to link other trades. Thank you so much for the video its nice you explain.
    Is there a video from you to see how we link structural model for the architectural file if its in BIM 360.

    Mike, my office is just starting to use Revit, however, the office doesn't have a server to host a central model. Does Bim360 allow collaboration within our office only, will it allow our staffers to collaborate/sync and otherwise use Revit this way...outside consultants excluded for the time being. Thank you

    Hello,
    As it is always a pleasure to watch your lessons about Revit. I have a question please. I am an MEP engineer and I need an IFC file for a DIALUX calculation. The problem is that the DIALUX program only supports IFC Beta. How do I export IFC files in the BETA version?

    Hi, pls make video on project browser folder like Architecture ( sub folder in architecture like architecture_100, 200, 250 etc.), structure, mechanical electrical plumbing etc.

    • @miketaylor8211
      @miketaylor8211  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Creating sun-folders is quick and easy. You can select the main folder and 3 little dots appear.. when you select those dots, a Dropdown menu appears and you can then see the command for adding a sub-folder!!!

    How to colaborate a NWD file in BIM360?

  • @vivekyadav-kp2il
    @vivekyadav-kp2il 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    In the cloud button is not visible to select

    • @miketaylor8211
      @miketaylor8211  25 วันที่ผ่านมา

      You may need to be added as a MEMBER to a project for that button to be visible. And you need to be in the right version of Revit that the Cloud project is in also.
      Revit knows of you have been added or not. (this is my initial guess)

    Hey Mark! I remember going through this myself! Now I have new confusion. My revit is going crazy slow. Met with Autodesk, and they didnt think my file should be 3.5Gb. I tried to thin out the files, remove CAD drawings, unused families, etc. Still 3.5. I SAVE AS my file to my desktop to start ripping it apart to see what is taking up the space, and I noticed before I started the file was only 95Mb! I found that if download the BIM360 source file of my file, it comes in as a ZIP file, and the 10 linked revit files are part of that 3.5Gb! The revit files are linked, not imported. Internet tells me it all depends if you linked it though desktop connector or Docs. Please, put out one of your amazing videos on this to help me!!!! Thank you!!
