When did you actually hunt this? If it was recent you are definitely not in central iowa. We have had nothing but rain for at least a week. Nice hunt and thanks for the laugh.
The amount of time wasted with a pinpointer used in everyhole is crazy. Just keep the detctor coil close and wave a handfull over it, saves hours.

I always respect a person who can laugh at themselves - to me that means such a person is down-to-earth and worth knowing. Congrats on a good hunt.

Iron bias depends on locaiton. I keep it at 0 for parks...bump up to 3 or 4 for old farmsteads.
