Sublime. Vinson is exploring a paradoxical qualia of human experience on Earth. Celestial navigation is- as Skip notes a crucible- of that experience: something of repetitive calculation and measurement, but also transcendent in what beyond sum of its parts, provides. Working Polynesian people continuing navigation on other side of the Horn in the Pacific has a similar vibe. It's something which depends upon human rational persistence, yet is somehow meaningful beyond the track of the simple Lo-Fi calculation of movement through our environment. Vinson cleverly harnesses the role of mind-body in this human experience as this vid shows in using physical human effort (ha ha) with the power of nature.
Great production I love I've just witnessed one of my skippers who has amazing stories now witness in this amazing adventure, I'm sure it cuts over some of the hardest events because you wouldn't be filming those, it's a great story it's an inspirational video. Congratulations.
